Synthetic lethality between androgen receptor signalling and the PARP pathway in prostate cancer
Mohammad Asim,Mohammad Asim,Firas Tarish,Heather I. Zecchini,Kumar Sanjiv,Eleni Gelali,Charles E. Massie,Ajoeb Baridi,Anne Y. Warren,Wanfeng Zhao,Christoph Ogris,Leigh-Anne McDuffus,Patrice Mascalchi,Greg Shaw,Harveer Dev,Karan Wadhwa,Paul Wijnhoven,Josep V. Forment,Scott Lyons,Andy G. Neal,Thomas Helleday +32 more
TL;DR: It is shown that androgen receptor (AR) regulates HR and AR inhibition activates the PARP pathway in vivo, thus inhibition of both AR and PARP is required for effective treatment of high risk prostate cancer.
Surgical margin length and location affect recurrence rates after robotic prostatectomy.
Harveer Dev,Peter Wiklund,Vipul R. Patel,Deepak Parashar,Kenneth J. Palmer,Tommy Nyberg,Doug Skarecky,David E. Neal,Thomas E. Ahlering,Prasanna Sooriakumaran,Prasanna Sooriakumaran +10 more
TL;DR: A PSM length ≥3 mm is predictive of BCR, as is to a lesser extent multiple positive margins, and in contrast to open prostatectomy series, posterolateral margins carry a smaller risk of B CR compared with apical margins.

The importance of surgical margins in prostate cancer.
TL;DR: Positive surgical margins after radical prostatectomy are a predictor of biochemical recurrence (BCR), and highly dependent on surgeon, experience, and skill, but the impact of PSMs on BCR remains secondary to other clinico‐pathologic variables: Gleason Score, pathologic stage, and baseline PSA.

Investigating Upper Urinary Tract Urothelial Carcinomas: A single centre 10-year experience
Harveer Dev,Stephanie Xiu Wern Poo,James N. Armitage,Oliver Wiseman,Nimish Shah,Samih Al-Hayek +5 more
TL;DR: Pre-operative investigations can predict UUTUCs, and in selective patients with abnormal investigations, ureteroscopy should be performed to confirm and predict the grade of UUT UC, in order to guide future management.
Detailed analysis of operating time learning curves in robotic prostatectomy by a novice surgeon.
TL;DR: In this article, a prospective ethically approved database was used to evaluate the operating times of each individual surgical step, in the first 150 RALP cases performed independently by a robotic-naive laparoscopic surgeon.
