Extended resections for hilar cholangiocarcinoma.
Peter Neuhaus,Sven Jonas,Wolf O. Bechstein,R Lohmann,Cornelia Radke,N. Kling,Cora Wex,Hartmut Lobeck,Rainer E. Hintze +8 more
TL;DR: Extended resections, especially right trisegmentectomies and LTPP, resulted in the highest rate of R0 resection and best represents the principles of surgical oncology and may be regarded as the surgical procedure of choice.

Long-term follow-up of posttransfusion and sporadic chronic hepatitis non-A, non-B and frequency of circulating antibodies to hepatitis C virus (HCV).
Uwe Hopf,Bernd Möller,D. Küther,R. Stemerowicz,Hartmut Lobeck,A. Lüdtke-Handjery,E. Walter,Hubert E. Blum,Michael Roggendorf,Friedrich Deinhardt +9 more
TL;DR: 75% of both patients groups with chronic PT- and S-HNANB are infected with the same agent, of which antibodies are detected by the new anti-HCV assay, which indicates that there was no statistical association between the severity of the disease and the presence of anti- HCV.

Omega-3 fatty acids alleviate chemically induced acute hepatitis by suppression of cytokines.
Christoph Schmöcker,Karsten H. Weylandt,Lena Kahlke,Jingdong Wang,Hartmut Lobeck,Gisa Tiegs,Thomas Berg,Jing X. Kang +7 more
TL;DR: Evidence is offered for an inflammation dampening effect of omega‐3 polyunsaturated fatty acids in the context of liver inflammation by showing less severe inflammatory liver injury in fat‐1 mice with a balanced n‐6/n‐3 PUFA ratio.

Relation between Escherichia coli R(rough)-forms in gut, lipid A in liver, and primary biliary cirrhosis.
Uwe Hopf,R. Stemerowicz,Arne Rodloff,Chris Galanos,Bernd Möller,Hartmut Lobeck,Marina A. Freudenberg,Dieter Huhn +7 more
TL;DR: The hypothesis that intestinal enterobacterial R-forms are aetiologically important in PBC and that antigens released from the bacterial cell wall contribute to the pathogenesis of the disease is supported.

Hepatitis C virus reinfection in allografts after orthotopic liver transplantation
Volker König,J. Bauditz,Hartmut Lobeck,Rainer Lüsebrink,Peter Neuhaus,Gerhard Blumhardt,Wolf O. Bechstein,Ruth Neuhaus,R. Steffen,Uwe Hopf +9 more
TL;DR: The data suggest that persistent hepatitis C virus reinfects the allograft in most cases, but the risk of acute organ damage caused by hepatitis Cirus reinfection is low.
