Location of peptide fragments in the fibrinogen molecule by immunoelectron microscopy.
TL;DR: From an electron microscopic investigation of the crosslinked material, it is concluded that the disulfide knot lies within the central nodule of the trinodular fibrinogen molecule.

Structural studies of a folding intermediate of bovine pancreatic ribonuclease A by continuous recycled flow
Marc Adler,Harold A. Scheraga +1 more
TL;DR: Continuous recycled flow spectroscopy was used to investigate the structure of the slow-folding intermediates of chemically intact ribonuclease A (RNase A) during thermal unfolding/folding under acidic conditions and found only limited formation of new structures.

Structure of the type I collagen molecule based on conformational energy computations: the triple-stranded helix and the N-terminal telopeptide.
Luigi Vitagliano,George Némethy,George Némethy,Adriana Zagari,Adriana Zagari,Harold A. Scheraga,Harold A. Scheraga +6 more
TL;DR: The first extensive conformational analysis of the type I collagen N-terminal telopeptide is reported, and the lowest-energy model of the N- terminate has a contracted conformation compared to the triple helix region, in agreement with X-ray and neutron diffraction data on collagen fibers.
