Conformational space annealing by parallel computations: Extensive conformational search of Met‐enkephalin and of the 20‐residue membrane‐bound portion of melittin
Jooyoung Lee,Harold A. Scheraga +1 more
TL;DR: A successful implementation of a parallel version of a conformational space annealing (CSA) method is presented, an optimization procedure for conformational energy calculations on polypeptides that generates up to 400 conformations to be minimized independently, thereby allowing very efficient parallel computations to been carried out.
Solution conformation of enkephalin. A nuclear magnetic resonance study of 13C-enriched carbonyl carbons in [Leu5]-enkephalin
TL;DR: The combined use of 13C and 1H nuclear magnetic resonance experiments leads to the conclusion that [Leu5]0enkephalin contains a type I beta bend at residues Gly3-Phe4 in dimethyl-d6 sulfoxide (Me2SO0d6) solution.

Localization of the binding site on fibrin for the secondary binding site of thrombin.
Zsofia Vali,Harold A. Scheraga +1 more
TL;DR: The location of the binding site suggests that the secondary site interaction may play an important role in determining the cleavage specificity of thrombin on fibrinogen and can affect the rate of release of the fibr inopeptides.
