Helix–coil stability constants for amino acids in nonaqueous solvents. Studies of random poly(γ‐benzyl‐L‐glutamate‐co‐L‐alanine) and poly(γ‐benzyl‐L‐glutamate‐co‐L‐leucine) in a mixed solvent
S. Sridhara,Vettai S. Ananthanarayanan,R. A. Fredrickson,B. O. Zweifel,G. T. Taylor,Harold A. Scheraga,Harold A. Scheraga +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the host-guest technique has been applied to the determination of the helix-coil stability constants of two naturally occurring amino acids, L-alanine and L-leucine, in a nonaqueous solvent system.

Correction. Chain Reversals in Model Peptides: Studies of Cystine-Containing Cyclic Peptides. 1. Conformational Free Energies of Cyclization of Hexapeptides of Sequence Ac-Cys-X-Pro-Gly-Y-Cys-NHMe
TL;DR: In this paper, the molecular structures of two cyclic peptides (withX=Gly and Ser, respectively) were examined by two-dimensional NMR spectroscopy in aqueous solution.

Folding of ribonuclease A from a partially disordered conformation: kinetic study under transition conditions
Richard M. Lynn,Yasuo Konishi,Harold A. Scheraga +2 more
- 12 Oct 1982
TL;DR: All ordered structures in RNase A are not equivalent in their influence on the folding pathway; some may play an essential role and some may not, and no significant acceleration of folding was observed from LiClO4-denatured RNase S-peptide A as compared to that from urea-den aturedRNase A.
