Helix sense of poly-γ-p-chlorobenzyl L-glutamate
TL;DR: Poly(γ‐p‐chlorobenzyl L‐glulamate), for which theoretical calculations have shown only a small difference in energy between the left‐ and right‐handed α‐helices, has been synthesized and its screw sense determined by ORD in various solvents.
3
Determination of molecular weights by differential cryoscopy on small volumes of dilute solutions of oligopeptides.
TL;DR: A differential cryoscope of the equilibrium type requires only 1 ml of sample for a molecular-weight determination of a solute in a solvent that freezes below room temperature and is sensitive to +/- 0.0002 degrees C.
3
The relative stabilities of some polyamino acid helices.
TL;DR: The calculations on the relative stabilities provide information about the interactions in several polyamino acids of current interest and, at the same time, provide a test of the procedures being developed for the calculation of protein conformation from amino acid sequence.
