Regeneration studies of an analog of ribonuclease A missing disulfide bonds 65-72 and 40-95.
TL;DR: One-dimensional 1H NMR spectra demonstrated that the conformations of these three species are similar and are predominantly disordered; however, there is evidence of local structure in the vicinity of one histidine residue.

Visualization of the nature of protein folding by a study of a distance constraint approach in two-dimensional models.
Hiroshi Wako,Harold A. Scheraga +1 more
TL;DR: The results imply that, in the folding of real proteins in three dimensions, the competition for hydrophobic (and hydrophilic) residues for inside (outside) positions in the molecule probably constitutes a necessary but not a sufficient condition to form and stabilize the native structure.

Sodium sulfite as an antioxidant in the acid hydrolysis of bovine pancreatic ribonuclease A
TL;DR: Treatment of hydrochloric acid with sodium sulfite prior to the acid hydrolysis of bovine pancreatic ribonuclease A has been found to suppress the oxidation of cystine, methionine, and tyrosine without adversely affecting the recoveries of other amino acids.
