TL;DR: Alkylidenetriphenylphosphorane 1 react with CS2 in the molar ratio 2:1 to yield phosphonium salts 5, which in the reaction with halo compounds give rise to the formation of 2-(triphenyl-phosphorsoranylidene)alkanedithioates 8 and phosphoni-halogenides 7 as mentioned in this paper.

TL;DR: Results show that a profile of some specific components, as well as a few ubiquitous volatiles, constitutes MHC‐associated odor signals in humans and indicates that the urine odors of humans are associated with the MHC.
