TL;DR: The solid-state micro-hydraulic transducers as mentioned in this paper are capable of transducing energy at very high specific power output in the order of 1 kW/kg, and thus have the potential to enable many novel applications.

TL;DR: In this paper, a micro-machined displacement vacuum pump with a roughing pump and an ion pump was developed for portable analytical instruments, achieving the lowest measured pressure in a micro machined vacuum pump operated from atmospheric pressure.
