A novel double-modified strategy to enhance the performance of thin-film nanocomposite nanofiltration membranes: Incorporating functionalized graphenes into supporting and selective layers
Quanling Xie,Quanling Xie,Shishen Zhang,Shishen Zhang,Zhuan Hong,Zhuan Hong,Hanjun Ma,Hanjun Ma,Birong Zeng,Xiao Gong,Wenyao Shao,Qiuquan Wang +11 more
TL;DR: In this article, a double modified strategy by introducing sulfonated graphene (SG) and maleic anhydride modified graphene oxide (MAH-GO) nanofillers into the supporting layer and selective layer, respectively, was adopted to develop high-performance thin-film nanocomposite (TFN) membrane.

A facile approach to enhance performance of PVDF-matrix nanocomposite membrane via manipulating migration behavior of graphene oxide
Hanjun Ma,Hanjun Ma,Quanling Xie,Quanling Xie,Chenpu Wu,Lufang Shen,Zhuan Hong,Zhuan Hong,Guoliang Zhang,Yinghua Lu,Wenyao Shao +10 more
TL;DR: In this paper, three kinds of polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) with different molecular weights (K17, K30, K90) were used as the pore former and the dragging agent to investigate the migration behavior of GO in PVDF-matrix nanocomposite membrane.

A Novel Thin-Film Nanocomposite Nanofiltration Membrane by Incorporating 3D Hyperbranched Polymer Functionalized 2D Graphene Oxide.
Quanling Xie,Shishen Zhang,Shishen Zhang,Hanjun Ma,Hanjun Ma,Wenyao Shao,Xiao Gong,Zhuan Hong +7 more
TL;DR: It was found that the introduction of GO-HBE-COOH nanosheets favored the formation of a thinner and smoother nanocomposite active layer with an enhanced hydrophilicity and negative charge, which demonstrated a superior permeaselectivity, antifouling ability, and chlorine resistance over the conventional PPA thin-film composite (TFC) membranes.

Effects of Casting Solvents on the Morphologies, Properties, and Performance of Polysulfone Supports and the Resultant Graphene Oxide-Embedded Thin-Film Nanocomposite Nanofiltration Membranes
Quanling Xie,Quanling Xie,Shishen Zhang,Shishen Zhang,Zhuan Hong,Zhuan Hong,Hanjun Ma,Hanjun Ma,Chenran Liu,Chenran Liu,Wenyao Shao +10 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the influence of different casting solvents including N-methylpyrrolidinone (NMP), N,N-dimethylacetamide (DMAc), and DMAc-N, N-Ndimethylformamide (DMF) on the morphologies, properties, and properties of the castings was studied.
