Calotropis gigantea extract induces apoptosis through extrinsic/intrinsic pathways and reactive oxygen species generation in A549 and NCI-H1299 non-small cell lung cancer cells
Jiyon Lee,Hui-Ju Jang,Hyun-Woo Chun,Thu-Huyen Pham,Yesol Bak,Jong-Woon Shin,Hang Jin,Yong-In Kim,Hyung Won Ryu,Sei-Ryang Oh,Do-Young Yoon +10 more
TL;DR: It is confirmed that CG caused apoptosis through the activation of extrinsic and intrinsic pathways, cell cycle arrest, and ROS generation in A549 and NCI-H1299 lung cancer cells, which can be suggested as a potential agent for lung cancer therapy.
A new flavonoid from Stellera chamaejasme L., stechamone, alleviated 2,4-dinitrochlorobenzene-induced atopic dermatitis-like skin lesions in a murine model.
Beom-Geun Jo,No-June Park,Jonghwan Jegal,Sangho Choi,Sang Woo Lee,Hang Jin,Su-Nam Kim,Min Hye Yang +7 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that stechamone, a new flavonoid isolated from Stellera chamaejasme is a potential anti‐atopic agent and treatment for skin inflammatory diseases.

Metabolomics approach to identify the active substances influencing the antidiabetic activity of Lagerstroemia species
Mun-Ock Kim,Su Ui Lee,Heung Joo Yuk,Hyun-Jae Jang,Jae-Won Lee,Eun-Bin Kwon,Jin-Hyub Paik,Sangho Choi,Adek Nizar,Kongmany Sydara,Hang Jin,So-Yeun Woo,Sei-Ryang Oh,Hyung Won Ryu +13 more
TL;DR: In this paper, metabolite profiles of 17 different Lagerstroemia species from different countries were performed using UPLC-QTof-MS combined with chemometric tools to identify potential metabolite predictors of antidiabetic activity.

Anti-inflammatory effects of a methanolic extract of Castanea seguinii Dode in LPS-induced RAW264.7 macrophage cells
Yourim Lim,Ji-Won Park,Ok-Kyoung Kwon,Jae-Won Lee,Han-Sol Lee,Sang Woo Lee,Sangho Choi,Wanyi Li,Hang Jin,Sang-Bae Han,Kyung-Seop Ahn +10 more
TL;DR: CSME was demonstrated to exert its anti-inflammatory activities through the inhibition of the NF-κB and the MAPK signaling pathways, as well as the activation of Nrf-2 and AMPK.
Anti-inflammatory and Anti-oxidative Effects of the Ethanol Extract of Cryptocarya densiflora Blume in Lipopolysaccharide-Stimulated RAW264.7 Mouse Macrophages
Ji Won Park,Ok-Kyoung Kwon,Doo-Young Kim,Jung Hee Kim,In Sik Shin,Sei-Ryang Oh,Sang Woo Lee,Jae Hong Kim,Hang Jin,Wan Yi Lee,Kyung-Seop Ahn +10 more
- 01 Jan 2014
TL;DR: Results indicate that CDEE inhibits the LPS-induced inflammatory and oxidative responses via suppression of NF-κB activation and the enhancement of Nrf2 activation, and suggest thatCDEE may be therapeutic for treating inflammatory diseases.
