We present a novel, robot form aimed at adaptively automating the shape and functionality of the human environment. While robots tend to be rigid-link, stiff objects when set within human environments, serving specific human objectives, they can also be compliant and give form to the physical environment and widen human activities within it. We introduce such a robot, a novel, tendon-driven, continuum robot surface we call a “Space Agent This paper presents our concept, design, and realization of the Space Agent. Experiments with this robot surface compare our prototype to our simulations of five spatial configurations that are formally distinct and suggestive of how the surface might be applied to habitable, physical space in response to human needs and wants. We found a validating match between prototype and simulations for the five configurations investigated. The paper concludes with a consideration of potential applications for robot surfaces like this one.

Design and Characterization of a Novel, Continuum-Robot Surface for the Human Environment

Currently, e-learning has revolutionized the way students learn by offering access to quality education in a model that does not depend on a specific space and time. However, due to the e-learning method where no tutor can directly control the group of students, they can be distracted for various reasons, which greatly affects their learning capacity. Several scientific works try to improve the quality of online education, but a holistic approach is necessary to address this problem. Identifying students’ attention spans is important in understanding how students process and retain information. Attention is a critical cognitive process that affects a student’s ability to learn. Therefore, it is important to use a variety of techniques and tools to assess student attention, such as standardized tests, behavioral observation, and assessment of academic achievement. This work proposes a system that uses devices such as cameras to monitor the attention level of students in real time during online classes. The results are used with feedback as a heuristic value to analyze the performance of the students, as well as the teaching standards of the teachers.

Proposal for a System for the Identification of the Concentration of Students Who Attend Online Educational Models

Robots are typically designed as occupants of rooms, adapting to, and navigating within them. “Robot surfaces,” an emerging robot typology, are not occupants of but integral with rooms, physically shaping rooms to support human activity. We report on an advancement of robot surfaces formed by weaving McKibben Pneumatic Air Muscles that, when actuated, morph a 2D planar surface to generate 3D geometries including a “spherical cap.” Following our foundational study at different scales with different materials, we developed a full-scale prototype that offers an intimate and private space for people meeting in open plan environments. We report on our research, focusing on a design case, and validate the full-scale prototype as compared to our Non-Uniform Rational B-Splines (NURBS) model for three useful configurations. Our quantitative and qualitative results suggest that our robot surface can support human activity as envisioned. This research contributes foundational understanding of an emerging category of robotics from which our team and peers can build.

A Continuum Robot Surface of Woven, McKibben Muscles Embedded in and Giving Shape to Rooms

As the present computer vision technology is growing up, and the multiple RGB color object tracking is considered as one of the important tasks in computer vision and technique that can be used in many applications such as surveillance in a factory production line, event organization, flow control application, analysis and sort by colors and etc. In video processing applications, variants of the background subtraction method are broadly used for the detection of moving objects in video sequences. The background subtraction is the most popular and common approach for motion detection. However , this is paper presents our investigation the first objective of the whole algorithm chain is to find the RGB color within a video. The idea from the beginning was to look for certain specific features of the patches, which would allow distinguishing red, green and blue color objects in the image. In this paper an algorithm is proposed to track the real time moving RGB color objects using kinect camera. We will use a kinect camera to capture the real time video and making an image frame from this video and extracting red, green and blue color .Here image processing is done through MATLAB for color recognition process each color. Our method can tracking accurately at 95% in real-time.
