Background: COVID 19, which affects all areas of life, is perhaps one of the most studied subjects in the field of medicine, and the number of global publications is increasing day by day. The nursing profession and practices have also been directly affected by this rapid stream of broadcasts.
Objective: The study was planned to examine in detail the studies on 'COVID and nursing' and to guide the studies in the future.
Design: In our study, the Web of Science (WOS) database was scanned to search for publications with topics of’ nursing 'or' SARS COV-2' , 'nurse' and 'COVID 19' , 'nursing' and 'COVID 19' and 'nurse' and 'SARS COV-2'  were reviewed.
Results: A total of 562 publications were included in the study. The country with the highest number of publications was the United States (32%). While 388 (69%) of the publications were cited, it was determined that 174 (31%) of them were not cited at all. The average number of citations of these 562 publications was found to be 3.28. The H index reached by these publications, which were cited 1.843 times in total, was found to be 17. The most cited journal of ours is It was the New England Journal of Medicine (369 citations).
Conclusion: As in every field of publication, the pandemic has been effective in the field of nursing, and the number of publications has increased globally. Considering the citation rates of the publications, it was determined that there is a wide field of study in this field.

Network analysis of nursing publications in the COVID 19 era

The current study sought to investigate and analyze citation-based trends in the field of human factors and ergonomics over a relatively long period of time. Journals were selected from the Ergonomics Journal List (EJL), originally formulated by Dul and Karwowski in 2004. Data were extracted from the Thomson Reuters Journal Citation Reports via a custom order in 2008. Various bibliometric indicators were examined and analyzed, including total citation counts, cited half-lives, immediacy indices, and journal impact factors. Overall, the results suggest that, although citation counts have increased in recent years, trends were less clear regarding cited half-lives and immediacy indices. Impact factors rose over time, however, with individual journals increasing their scores between 200p and 613p, with an overall increase of 416p for the EJL between 1975 and 2007. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.

AIM
This study aimed to analyse the study focus, thematic trends and evolution of studies on the leadership and care in nursing by using a bibliometric analysis.


DESIGN
Descriptive and bibliometric analyses were employed.


METHODS
The study universe included 3558 articles on the leadership and care in the Web of Science (WoS) database. The data analysis and graphical presentation were conducted using Bibliometrix Package in R software.


RESULTS
Within the scope of the study, articles published by 10,255 authors in 184 different sources between 1982-2021 were reached. Five thousand eight hundred and twenty-eight author keywords were found in these studies. The most frequent author keywords included "leadership," "nursing," "nurse," "evidence-based practice," "management," "nursing leadership" and "patient safety." It was further suggested that the most frequently used trend topics in early years were "new roles," "faculty practice," "research implementation" while trend topics such as "systematic review," "older adults" and "COVID-19' have become popular in recent years.


CONCLUSION
The number of studies on the leadership and care in nursing has gradually increased over the years, and this subject has already become an active field of study in nursing research. In addition, nurse-related themes such as job satisfaction, teamwork and retention have been reviewed more intensively while patient-based and fundamental care-based themes have been less studied.


IMPACT
This study was the first bibliometric analysis to focus on the research focus, thematic trends and evolution of research on the leadership and care in nursing. Only a limited amount of data are available on the current knowledge structure, research focus, thematic trends and evolution of research on leadership and care in nursing. The results of this study may establish a solid ground to design further studies and provide guidance.

Leadership and care in nursing research: A bibliometric analysis.

Background: Patients with dementia experience a variety of neuropsychiatric symptoms and behavioral disturbances. The Montessori method is a type of non-pharmacological intervention to care for people with dementia. However, there are few bibliometric studies on the application of Montessori methods. We aimed to analyze the hotspots and trends of research on the application of Montessori methods to the care of dementia patients. Methods: Microsoft Office Excel, Co-Occurrence 9.9, and CiteSpace were used to analyze the articles on Montessori intervention in patients with dementia from 2000 to 2021 in China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Wanfang, China Science and Technology Journal Database, Web of Science core collection database, PubMed, and Scopus. Results: A total of 23 Chinese language publications and 113 English language publications were included. The number of English language publications was on the rise, while the number of Chinese language publications was low. There are many issuing institutions which published articles in this field, mostly concentrated in universities. English language publication sources were more than Chinese language publication sources. The hot research topic in Chinese language publications and English language publications was the care of agitated behavior of dementia patients based on the Montessori method. The psychological problems of dementia patients are likely to become a hot issue of concern for scholars in Chinese. There will be a lot of research focusing on dementia patients and their family caregivers in this field. Conclusion: The bibliometric and visualization analysis helps us understand the current research status and hotspots of Montessori intervention in dementia patients in Chinese language publications and English language publications.

Research Trends and Hotspots on Montessori Intervention in Patients With Dementia From 2000 to 2021: A Bibliometric Analysis.

PURPOSE The aim of this study was to determine the predictive strength of students' self-efficacy, problem-solving skills, and other characteristics in performing intravenous practices and monitor phlebitis and infiltration. METHODS This cross-sectional study was carried out with 736 third and fourth-year students studying at the Health Sciences Faculties of Balikesir and Sakarya universities. The data were collected using the Self-Efficacy Scale, Problem-Solving Inventory and Catheter Care and Infiltration Monitoring Questionnaire. RESULTS The participants' mean Catheter Care and Infiltration Monitoring Questionnaire score significantly and positively correlated with their mean Self-Efficacy Scale score on a moderate level (r=.25; p <.001) but significantly and negatively correlated with their mean Problem-Solving Inventory score on a moderate level (r=-.21; p <.001). In other words, because a low Problem-Solving Inventory score indicates that the person's problem-solving skill is high, the Care and Infiltration Monitoring Questionnaire score increased as the problem-solving skill increased. While the Self-Efficacy Scale predicted the year of study and catheter care and infiltration monitoring variables positively, the Problem-Solving Inventory predicted the satisfaction with the profession variable negatively. CONCLUSION Self-efficacy, problem-solving, liking the profession, and year of study predict success in catheter care and infiltration monitoring. For this reason, guidance may be provided in the development of a comprehensive education system toward increasing students' problem-solving skills, self-efficacy, and professional knowledge and skills.

The predictive strength of students’ self-efficacy, problem solving skills to perform catheter care

Aim This study aimed to identify and investigate the main characteristics of the top 100 most cited studies on conflict in published in nursing category in the Web of Science database using bibliometric and social network analysis methods. Design A retrospective bibliometric analysis was used. Methods The study data were obtained from the Web of Science (WoS) database. The top 100 studies with the highest number of citations were included in the study. The study data were analysed with Excel and SPSS and they were visualized with VOSviewer. Results It was concluded that the studies in the research were published in 38 different journals between 1974-2019 and they were conducted by 245 different authors from 24 different countries. It was further reported that the Journal of Advanced Nursing was the most productive journal and the USA was the most productive country. The most commonly used keywords were "nurse," "conflict," "nursing," "job satisfaction," "work-family conflict" and "ethical conflict." Conclusion The issue of conflict is a growing field of scientific study for nursing researchers. The quality of researches will be certainly enhanced in future with the studies published in journals with high impact factors. Impact The research of the top 100 most cited paper is a new and innovative bibliometric approach to understand nursing literature. There is very little information about the development, structure and characteristics of the existing mass of knowledge on conflict in nursing studies. The study findings establish a basis of information for planning further studies and providing guidance. In addition, this study provides researchers, scientific journals, institutions and countries with an opportunity to assess and compare their own performance in conflict literature in nursing studies. However, the fact that the most cited studies in the field of conflict in nursing is in demand by journals with high impact factor is a source of motivation for researchers studying in this field.

Conflict in nursing studies: A bibliometric analysis of the top 100 cited papers

Aim The characteristics of the publications on nursing empowerment should be investigated in order to get an idea about the development of the field and to determine the developments in nursing practices and research. This study aimed to investigate the characteristics of the current knowledge structure and developmental process in nurse empowerment by using bibliometric methods. Methods The data of this retrospective descriptive study were obtained from the Web of Science (WoS). All relevant studies conducted before 2020 were included in the study. The data analysis was conducted with Excel, SPSS and VOSviewer. Results Five hundred eighty-nine studies conducted between 1974-2019 were included in the study. It was found that 72.15% of these studies were journal articles and these studies were conducted by 1,450 authors. The studies were published in 109 journals and were produced by researchers from 49 different countries. Also 47.5% of these studies were conducted in the United States. Hot topics were "empowerment", "nursing," "structural empowerment," "nurses," "job satisfaction" and "psychological empowerment." Conclusion There has been a noteworthy increase in the number of studies on nurse empowerment and this field offers an active field of study for nursing researchers. The focus of the studies varies from nurses to nurse managers.

Trends and hot topics in nurse empowerment research: A bibliometric analysis.

The aim of this study is to the effects of gender on problem solving skills of nursing student using meta-analysis method in Turkey. Online databases were scanned to reach studies to be included in the survey. In scanning 'problem solving', 'student nurse', 'Turkey', 'problem solving skill' keywords were used in Turkish and English. Six studies that meet the criteria were included in the study. The CMA statistical program was used in the analysis of the data. Q and I2 values to test heterogeneity and, Orwin's Fail-Safe N and Tau coefficients to publication bias of the included studies were calculated. A random effects model was used to examine the effect size. The six studies' total sample size was 2079 nursing students, 436 male and 1643 female. Heterogeneity and publication bias test showed that studies were heterogeneous and there was not publication bias. The mean effect size on gender problem solving was calculated as 0.079. In conclusion, it was identified that the effect of gender on problem solving level of student nurses was insignificant for women. The effects of gender on problem solving skills of nursing students in Turkey: a meta-analysis study Türkiye’deki hemşirelik öğrencilerinin problem çözme düzeylerine cinsiyetin etkisi: Bir meta analiz çalışması

AIM: The aim of this study is to investigate the characteristics and development of Journal of Health and Nursing Management. METHOD: The bibliometric analysis method was used in the study. From the year that Journal of Health and Nursing Management started its first publication, 101 articles published during the five-year period (2014-2018). The study data were obtained by using the data collection form developed by the authors. In the analysis of the data, descriptive statistics and t-test were used. Ucinet/Netdraw software was used for visualizing the data. RESULTS: Sixty-nine (68.32%) research, and 32 (31.68%) review articles were investigated. It was found that 101 studies were performed by 173 different authors and 84 different institutions, while 44 authors had two and more publications, and the number of authors in publications ranged from 1 to 6. The highest number of studies (45 studies) were performed in Istanbul University, the most productive author was SA with 9 studies. The most frequently used keywords were “nursing”, “nurse”, “hospital” and “nurse executive”. Total number of 229 studies were cited, and 52 (51.49%) studies were not. CONCLUSION: This research has provided important information for the journal’s history and further development for the readers and future authors of the Journal of Health and Nursing Management.
