Public speaking is the process of speaking to a group of people in a structured, deliberate manner intended to inform, influence, or entertain the listeners. Speaking in front of audience is not an easy task. It needs a good speaking skill. Fear and nervousness become major problem, especially for beginners who have not experienced in public speaking. This also occurs in members of the Muslim Youth Forum Gayamsari (Foksari). Their speaking competence is inadequate. That is why Public Speaking training activity is held. It is expexted to improve their skills. This activity is performed in two stages, namely the delivery of content and practice. Based on the evaluation, the results obtained are very significant. The existence of enthusiastic participants indicates that they are very interested. Besides, there is a seriousness of the participants who attend a series of events organized by the team from beginning to end. Key Words: Skill, Public Speaking, Training Abstrak Berbicara di depan umum adalah proses berbicara kepada sekelompok orang dengan cara terstruktur yang disengaja dimaksudkan untuk menginformasikan, mempengaruhi, atau menghibur pendengar. Berbicara di depan umum bukanlah tugas yang mudah. Perlu keterampilan berbahasa yang baik. Ketakutan dan kegelisahan menjadi masalah besar, terutama bagi pemula yang belum berpengalaman dalam public speaking. Ini juga terjadi pada anggota Youth Forum Muslim Gayamsari (Foksari). Kompetensi berbahasa mereka tidak memadai. Itulah sebabnya kegiatan pelatihan Public Speaking diadakan. Hal ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan keterampilan mereka. Kegiatan ini dilakukan dalam dua tahap, yaitu pengiriman konten dan praktek. Berdasarkan evaluasi, hasil yang diperoleh sangat signifikan. Adanya peserta antusias menunjukkan bahwa mereka sangat tertarik. Selain itu, ada keseriusan dari para peserta yang menghadiri serangkaian acara yang diselenggarakan oleh tim dari awal sampai akhir. This research aims to identify various forms of local wisdom in disaster mitigation in the Dempo volcano eruption and determine the level of community understanding of local wisdom in disaster management. This research uses the descriptive explanative method. The analysis used is a combination of qualitative and quantitative descriptive analysis. The results of this study have identified several forms of local wisdom in disaster management in communities in the Dempo volcano. Cultural semiotics in the form of community advice and teachings, and the call to prayer when there is potential for eruption. Faunal semiotics in the form of the behaviour of various types of animals, vegetal semiotics in the condition of natural plants and cultivation, and physical semiotics in the form of natural signs. Public knowledge of local wisdom and disaster management is generally still low.

Today semiotics mainly influenced by Pierce’s thoughts and demarches has become an independent discipline which is used as an interdisciplinary aspect of text analysis. This approach, which uses linguistics, sociology, literature, and so forth is an efficient method of analysis. Semiotic analysis of the works in Arabic literature could lay the groundwork for a new reading of them, leading to better understanding of the texts. While introducing literary semiotics, this paper thus examines the poetry of Haroun Hashem Rashid based on the approach in question. It also appears that the encryption is related to the creator, aesthetics, text interrelationship, time, place, and the form of a poem. Given the work of Haroun Hashem Rashid, a number of roles are presented that rebuild a powerful relationship within a turbulent life, which is fluctuating between the pleasant and unpleasant symptoms. This associates likely and widespread meanings with the pure human being concepts. The results show that there is a high reliance on hypertext elements and the events of the author’s life in his poetry in addition to the text elements. However, of all the most frequent indices of his poetry, time, characters, and the indications of locations can be noted.
