TL;DR: The first donor-stabilized hydrosilanimine is reported, prepared by the reaction of RSiHCl2 (1) with N-heterocyclic carbenes (NHCs), and it is demonstrated that the reactions of 1 with NHCs are significantly influenced by the steric effects of the substituents on the NHC nitrogen atoms.
