N-doped nanoporous carbon as efficient catalyst for nitrobenzene reduction in sulfide-containing aqueous solutions
Na Liu,Longzhen Ding,Haijun Li,Mingjun Jia,Wenxiang Zhang,Nihong An,Xiaoling Yuan +6 more
- 15 Mar 2017
TL;DR: This work demonstrates that N-doped carbon materials have great potential for degradation of nitrobenzene to AN in the natural aquatic environment.

Oxygen exposure effects on the dechlorinating activities of a trichloroethene-dechlorination microbial consortium.
TL;DR: High-throughput sequencing by Illumina MiSeq indicated that the non-dechlorinating organisms were probably crucial to scavenge the oxygen to protect D. mccartyi from being damaged.

Effective degradation of Direct Red 81 using FeS-activated persulfate process.
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors used FeS as a heterogeneous persulfate (PS) activator to facilitate the degradation of a typical recalcitrant contaminant of diazo dye Direct Red 81 (DR 81).

Interspecies transfer of biosynthetic cobalamin for complete dechlorination of trichloroethene by Dehalococcoides mccartyi.
Haijun Li,Shanming Wei,Na Liu,Ya-nan Du,Guan-Syun Ding +4 more
TL;DR: The results confirmed that subcultures without exogenous cobalamin in the medium were apparently unaffected and were able to successively metabolize TCE to nonchlorinated ethene, and indicated that ampicillin-sensitive bacteria rather than methanogenic archaea within this microbial consortium were responsible for biosynthesizing cobalamine.
