Class-aware edge-assisted lightweight semantic segmentation network for power transmission line inspection

With the rapid development of China's electric power industry, the line patrol inspection is faced with the situation of high operation intensity, long cycle, and bad environment of some lines. The traditional manual patrol inspection method is inefficient and has high risk coefficient, so it is necessary to introduce unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) technology to maintain the lines efficiently. This paper combines the characteristics of transmission lines, integrates improved convolutional neural network (CNN) with UAV technology, and studies the feature extraction and feature matching of the images taken by UAV patrol inspection combined with the feature target recognition algorithm of transmission lines. By using the cloud scene technology to represent the corresponding model and scene representation of the transmission line, the example proves that the point cloud recognition and cutting extraction of the transmission line conductor and ground wire have reached a high modeling accuracy, which is verified to be feasible by the example. UAV technology can greatly improve the efficiency of line patrol and inspection.

Research on UAV Transmission Line Inspection Technology Based on CNN

This article covers the design, implementation, mathematical modelling, and control of a multivariable, underactuated, low-cost, three-degrees-of-freedom experimental helicopter system (namely a 3-DOF helicopter). The system is considered an essential benchmark for the development and evaluation of control algorithms and identification methods as it mimics real helicopters and UAVs. The system is multivariable and difficult to control due to its underactuation characteristics. In addition, it presents further challenges in modelling and control analysis in terms of high nonlinearity, coupling, uncertainty, and unmodeled dynamics. In this scene, the system is designed, developed, and operated virtually in SolidWorks using the necessary hardware and software. A new accurate multivariable coupled nonlinear mathematical model is derived and proposed. The model takes into account the complex dynamics and interactions between the system components, providing a more comprehensive representation of the real system compared to previous models. System parameters are then identified using the Sum of the Square Error (SSE) algorithm, and the mathematical model is compared to the practical results in many different scenarios via Simulink. Experimental tests confirmed the mathematical model and robust performance of the implemented experimental 3-DOF helicopter system, as well as the ability of the proposed controller to stabilize the helicopter and track different trajectories in the presence of uncertainties and cross-coupling effects.

The use of unmanned helicopters for line inspection is an important development direction for transmission line inspections. The unmanned helicopter inspection system can partially replace the line inspection workers and the manned helicopter inspection system, timely discover the faults and hidden dangers of the line, and transmit the situation on the ground to the ground control center to make correct judgments and eliminate line faults in time. The composition of the data link of the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is designed as a data-code-coded code link implementation scheme based on single-chip microcomputer, which can realize the uplink remote control information, task information and management information. For multi-rotor UAVs, the load is limited, and long-distance operations are often required. In combination with people’s requirements for image quality, this paper designs a set of high-definition digital image data transmission system with small volume and low transmission delay, capturing images in real time with a high-definition camera mounted on a drone or single-player device, first convert the image to a video signal, and then transmitting the video signal to the modulation end of the microwave transmitter through compression processing, and loading the signal onto the carrier through the microwave transmitter. After being microwaved, the directional radiation is radiated to the microwave receiver of the tension tower or the drone, and the video image signal is demodulated by the microwave receiver. Sending this signal to a hard disk recorder or monitor enables unattended monitoring of the power line all day.
