The invention relates to a device for reading out an exposed image plate, comprising a light source, by means of which read-out light can be produced, a deflection unit, by means of which the read-out light can be sequentially directed at the image plate with a read-out spot in order to read out the image plate, such that a traveling read-out spot can be produced on the image plate, and a detector unit for fluorescent light emitted by the image plate when the image plate is read out by means of the read-out light. According to the invention, the device also comprises a light-guiding element designed to guide the fluorescent light of the image plate to the detector unit.

Im Strahlengang zwischen der Laserdiode (20) und dem Mikrospiegel (32) ist eine Strahlformungseinheit (22) angeordnet ist, die den Querschnitt des Ausleselichtstrahls (16) so an die Ausenkontur der Spiegelflache (36) anpasst, dass zu jedem Zeitpunkt wahrend des Auslesens der Speicherfolie (12) hochstens P = 0,5% der Gesamtintensitat des Ausleselichtstrahls auf Bereiche auserhalb der Spiegelflache (36) fallen und gleichzeitig mindestens A = 38% der Spiegelflache (36) von dem Ausleselichtstrahl (16) mit einer Intensitat beleuchtet werden, die groser ist als 1/eder maximalen Intensitat des Ausleselichtstrahls.
