On the dynamic stability of fluid dielectric films
TL;DR: In this paper, a simplified model of a fluid dielectric (hydrocarbon) film is introduced suitable for investigating the influence of electrical forces on the dynamics and film stability, and linear stability analysis is carried through for a mechanically symmetric film with symmetric surface charge distribution and linear electric potential drop across the film.

Linear hydrodynamics of viscous thin films: II. Application to lipid films
TL;DR: In this article, the theory of Part I for colored lipid films was exemplified for coloured lipid films and two electric profiles were considered: (i) applied electric potential, (ii) symmetric surface charge distribution and (iii) instability of the film against periodic thickness fluctuations of long wavelengths.

Linear hydrodynamics of viscous thin films: I. General theory
TL;DR: In this article, a hydrodynamic model suitable for investigating the dynamics of a prototypical symmetric thin film is introduced, which displays two-dimensional surface phases with intrinsic rheology.

Generalized reptation model
TL;DR: In this article, the reptation model is generalized on the basis of a theory which accounts for hindered defect diffusion along the chain, and important rheological quantities generally depend on fractional powers of the molecular mass rather than on integer powers as in the conventional reptation picture.
