Moesin-ezrin-radixin-like protein (merlin) mediates protein interacting with the carboxyl terminus-1 (PICT-1)-induced growth inhibition of glioblastoma cells in the nucleus.
Hongbo Chen,Lin Mei,Lanzhen Zhou,Xudong Zhang,Caiping Guo,Junchang Li,H Wang,Yongqiang Zhu,Yi Zheng,Laiqiang Huang +9 more
TL;DR: It is proposed that merlin mediates PICT-1-induced growth inhibition by translocating to the nucleolus and binding PICT (1-356), a carboxyl-terminus truncated mutant that has lost the ability to bind merlin and has a markedly reduced inhibitory effect on the cell cycle and proliferation.

Analysis of the dynamic performances of a piston-crankshaft system considering oil-film forces reconstructed by a neural network
Fanbin Meng,Y-Z Hu,H Wang,Yongfang Zhang +3 more
- 01 Feb 2007
TL;DR: In this paper, a dynamic modeling method for the piston-crankshaft system in an internal combustion engine, including two-dimensional oil-film forces of the piston pack, was proposed.

Numerical study of influences of hard particles in lubricant on tribological performances of the piston ring
Fanbin Meng,Yongfang Zhang,Y-Z Hu,H Wang +3 more
- 01 Mar 2007
TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of hard particles lying in the lubrication region between piston ring face and cylinder wall, including effects of a non-contact particle and contact particle, on tribological performances of the piston ring were numerically analyzed.

Phosphatase and tensin homolog reconstruction and vascular endothelial growth factor knockdown synergistically inhibit the growth of glioblastoma.
Hongbo Chen,Xiaomeng Shen,Caiping Guo,Huijun Zhu,Lanzhen Zhou,Yongqiang Zhu,H Wang,Yi Zheng,Laiqiang Huang +8 more
TL;DR: Combined gene therapy using wild-type PTEN reconstruction and VEGF siRNA represents an effective gene therapy strategy for malignant gliomas by inhibiting tumor growth and tumorigenicity of PTEN-null GBM cells.

A generic plant RNA isolation method suitable for RNA-Seq and suppression subtractive hybridization
TL;DR: A consistent protocol is developed to prepare highly intact and pure RNAs from tissues of a variety of field-grown plant species, with high yields, in 2 to 3 h, and can be readily applied to mammalian, yeast, and bacterial cells.
