Validation of PET-acquired input functions for cardiac studies.
Irving N. Weinberg,S.C. Huang,Edward J. Hoffman,Luis I. Araujo,Christoph A. Nienaber,Maleah Grover-McKay,Magnus Dahlbom,H. Schelbert +7 more
TL;DR: To validate the determination of the arterial input function by noninvasive dynamic PET imaging, measurements of blood-pool activity in canine LV by PET were compared to beta probe measurements of arterial blood withdrawn directly from the LV.

Phase I, First-in-Human Study of BMS747158, a Novel 18F-Labeled Tracer for Myocardial Perfusion PET: Dosimetry, Biodistribution, Safety, and Imaging Characteristics After a Single Injection at Rest
Jamshid Maddahi,Johannes Czernin,Joel Lazewatsky,Sung-Cheng Huang,Magnus Dahlbom,H. Schelbert,Richard B. Sparks,Alexander Ehlgen,Paul D. Crane,Qi Zhu,Marybeth Devine,Michael E. Phelps +11 more
TL;DR: Preliminary data suggest that 18F-labeled BMS747158 appears to be well tolerated and has a unique potential for myocardial perfusion PET.

A boundary method for attenuation correction in positron computed tomography.
Sung-Cheng Huang,Richard E. Carson,Michael E. Phelps,Edward J. Hoffman,H. Schelbert,David E. Kuhl +5 more
TL;DR: A new method for attenuation correction in positron computed tomography has been developed and it can improve the quality of PCT images, and has been found effective in reducing the random noise in transmission measurements and in providing more accurate ACFs than the method using geometric attenuation Correction.

Role of thallium-201 and PET imaging in evaluation of myocardial viability and management of patients with coronary artery disease and left ventricular dysfunction : Cardiovascular nuclear medicine : state-of-the-art
Jamshid Maddahi,H. Schelbert,Richard C. Brunken,M. Di Carli +3 more
- 01 Jan 1994
TL;DR: The reported mortality of patients with coronary artery disease (CAD) and congestive heart failure is high but variable, and the available treatment choices are medical therapy, cardiac transplantation and myocardial revascularization as mentioned in this paper.

Evaluation of Myocardiai Metaboiism, withN-13-andC-i 1-Labeled Amino AcidsandPositronComputedTomography
Eberhard Henze,H. Schelbert,Jorge A. Barrio,James E. Egbert,Herbert Hansen,Norman S. MacDonald,Michael Phelps +6 more
- 01 Jan 1982
TL;DR: A three-compart menttracerkinetic model is proposed for invasive quantification of Krebs cycle activity, protein synthesis, and metabolic derangementsrelated to Ischemla, as demonstrated by N-l3 NH3imaging andlabeledmlcrospheres.
