Expression of apoptosis-related proteins and structural features of cell death in explanted aortocoronary saphenous vein bypass grafts.
A.Y Wang,Yuri V. Bobryshev,Sanjay M. Cherian,H Liang,Dinh Tran,Stephanie J Inder,Reginald S. A. Lord,Ken W.S. Ashwell,Alan Farnsworth +8 more
TL;DR: Investigation of aortocoronary saphenous vein bypass grafts with angiographic luminal stenosis with redo coronary artery bypass grafting indicates that in atherosclerotic areas, cell death occurs mainly by necrosis, while in non-atherosclerotics areas, cell death occurs by both necrosis and apoptosis.

Structural features of cell death in atherosclerotic lesions affecting long-term aortocoronary saphenous vein bypass grafts.
A.Y Wang,Y. V. Bobryshev,Sanjay M. Cherian,H Liang,Stephanie J Inder,Reginald S. A. Lord,Ken W.S. Ashwell,Alan Farnsworth +7 more
TL;DR: The results suggest that cell death in atherosclerotic lesions affecting aortocoronary artery saphenous vein bypass grafts occurs through oncosis rather than by apoptosis.

Electron-microscopic detection of apoptotic and necrotic cell death in non-atherosclerotic areas of stenotic aortocoronary saphenous vein bypass grafts.
A.Y Wang,Y. V. Bobryshev,H Liang,Sanjay M. Cherian,Stephanie J Inder,Ken W.S. Ashwell,Alan Farnsworth,Reginald S. A. Lord +7 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that both apoptosis and necrosis occur in non-atherosclerotic areas of stenotic aortocoronary saphenous vein bypass grafts.
