Plantar pressure information is significant to human health assessment and certain diseases forecast. An implementation method of wearable plantar pressure detecting system is presented. With full consideration of convenience and veracity demand for wearable detecting tools, slice type force sensing resistor is used, and the entire system is integrated into the sensing shoes, which is small and has practical function. Experimental results show that the plantar pressure detection system can real-time collect, process and transmit plantar pressure signal, and the system can display and store the data. The plantar pressure signal can provide further for plantar pressure measurement and analysis of reference.

Wearable Plantar Pressure Detecting System Based on FSR

Doctors and clinicians rely on accurate underfoot pressure data to perform diagnosis of foot diseases. In sole pressure measurement systems are designed to provide such data but its implementation suffers from certain constraints such as the need for a spacer to be placed on the sensor when taking measurements and the need for multiple calibrations due to the fact that the sensor parameters tend to change without it. In this work, we proposed an optimization technique to address these limitations. The results obtained from testing indicate that the proposed device performed measurement of plantar pressure effectively. Also, the calculation of body weight using the proposed optimization technique is improved from 5.07% to 9.06%. For validation, the results are compared with the measurements from a commercial plantar pressure device (EMED system) as benchmark.

This paper describes the design and development of an In-sole Plantar Pressure Device (IPPD) to measure underfoot pressure. Knowledge on underfoot pressure is important for different purposes. It is essential for doctors and clinicians to have information about underfoot pressure to enable them to diagnose foot problems. Currently, underfoot pressure ranges have not been effectively established, and there is insufficient information about the minimum and maximum values of underfoot pressure. Likewise, constraints with regard to the implementation of insole systems still persist and are represented by the need to put a spacer on the sensor during measurements, and the problem of sensor parameters changing after the calibration. These challenges are addressed in this work and preliminary results or performance of the proposed device are then presented.

Development of an in-Sole Plantar Pressure Measurement Device

One of the most important human diseases that need to be considered in terms of development of the medical engineering devices is cardiovascular disease which is a significant cause of death globally recently. Valvular heart disease is normally treated by restoring or altering heart valves with an artificial one. But the new prosthetic valve designs necessitate testing for durability estimate and failure method. It is significant to simulate the circulation system by the building of a pulse duplicator system. This study is stated by clarifying the parameter and implementation steps of the pulse duplicator system in which the different researchers have utilized the system and tried to explain the design steps of using this system without going into the system design by steps or what are the main part of this system and how can be implemented, tested, and developed individually. 
In this design, a DC motor produces, through a hydraulic piston, a flow pulse to the left ventricle chamber model, which is linked with two interchangeable prosthetic heart valves. The computer is used to control and process data from volumetric flow rate and image. The findings show that the linear displacement, the velocity of the piston and the linear acceleration regularly become significant particularly and follows a sinusoidal wave shape during one cycle, when (crank length/connecting rod length) value is equal 0.2 or less. Several sets of measured flow rate readings were obtained by using flow meter sensor YF-S201, results after calibration showed the error rate falls within permissible limits

Design, analysis and construction of a simple pulse duplicator system

IoT-Based Post-Surgical Monitoring System for Medical Rehabilitation

This paper proposes a fundamental study and detailed investigation about the insole touch area of plantar pressure to be considered as a reference measurement for all researchers that study any location over the insole area. A 101 pressure sensor positions, that number represents the most covered area of the insole, these 101 locations were investigated in this work to find out the variation limits for each individual point. A different gain conditioning circuits based on the supply op-amp has been used to measure the output of the sensors to fulfill sufficient accuracy. The measurements have been carried out on one size foot, but with persons have different weights to prove the proposed method hypothesis. It is found that more than 80% of the measured points were different, even for different body weights. The measurements resulted in that maximum applied force, and consequently the mass, not exceed one kilogram, while the minimum approach to a few grams. The verification of the hypothesis is satisfied when the accumulation of all points, in terms of mass, results in “Total body weight/242%”.
