Inspired by nature, various self‐healing materials that can recover their physical properties after external damage have been developed. Recently, self‐healing materials have been widely used in electronic devices for improving durability and protecting the devices from failure during operation. Moreover, self‐healing materials can integrate many other intriguing properties of biological systems, such as stretchability, mechanical toughness, adhesion, and structural coloration, providing additional fascinating experiences. All of these inspirations have attracted extensive research on bioinspired self‐healing soft electronics. This review presents a detailed discussion on bioinspired self‐healing soft electronics. Firstly, two main healing mechanisms are introduced. Then, four categories of self‐healing materials in soft electronics, including insulators, semiconductors, electronic conductors, and ionic conductors, are reviewed, and their functions, working principles, and applications are summarized. Finally, human‐inspired self‐healing materials and animal‐inspired self‐healing materials as well as their applications, such as organic field‐effect transistors (OFETs), pressure sensors, strain sensors, chemical sensors, triboelectric nanogenerators (TENGs), and soft actuators, are introduced. This cutting‐edge and promising field is believed to stimulate more excellent cross‐discipline works in material science, flexible electronics, and novel sensors, accelerating the development of applications in human motion monitoring, environmental sensing, information transmission, etc.

Bioinspired Self‐healing Soft Electronics

Big Data Analytics (BDA) has garnered significant attention in both academia and industries, particularly in sectors such as healthcare, owing to the exponential growth of data and advancements in technology. The integration of data from diverse sources and the utilization of advanced analytical techniques has the potential to revolutionize healthcare by improving diagnostic accuracy, enabling personalized medicine, and enhancing patient outcomes. In this paper, we aim to provide a comprehensive literature review on the application of big data analytics in healthcare, focusing on its ecosystem, applications, and data sources. To achieve this, an extensive analysis of scientific studies published between 2013 and 2023 was conducted and overall 180 scientific studies were thoroughly evaluated, establishing a strong foundation for future research and identifying collaboration opportunities in the healthcare domain. The study delves into various application areas of BDA in healthcare, highlights successful implementations, and explores their potential to enhance healthcare outcomes while reducing costs. Additionally, it outlines the challenges and limitations associated with BDA in healthcare, discusses modelling tools and techniques, showcases deployed solutions, and presents the advantages of BDA through various real-world use cases. Furthermore, this study identifies and discusses key open research challenges in the field of big data analytics in healthcare, aiming to push the boundaries and contribute to enhanced healthcare outcomes and decision-making processes.

Harnessing Big Data Analytics for Healthcare: A Comprehensive Review of Frameworks, Implications, Applications, and Impacts

ABSTRACT The importance of an integrated health promotion program has been proposed in recent years. However, the traditional program with lectures might decrease the effectiveness of learning. A game-based learning program provides a supportive social environment and further increases the quality of life and positive emotions. The present study evaluates the effectiveness of the proposed game-based health promotion program, KABAN!, to enhance health literacy, positive emotions, and quality of life for older adults. The proposed intervention included physical exercises, nutritional knowledge, social interaction, cognitive training, and oral health care skills. All activities were designed based on the gamification principles and experiential learning theory. Both qualitative and quantitative data were collected from participants and instructors. A total of 221 older adults were randomly recruited (age: mean = 71.1, SD = 7.1) as participants. To gather feedback on program implementation, 22 experienced instructors were selected based on the criteria of leading five or more sessions. Health literacy, quality of life, and emotional states before and after participation were collected. The instructors were invited to provide constructive feedback through open-ended survey questions. Analyses revealed that health literacy levels, positive emotions, and quality of life significantly increased after participation, while negative emotions remained identical. Further investigation of qualitative data via the constant comparison method showed positive feedback on instructors’ perceived changes in participants. This study showed that participation in health promotion programs like KABAN! significantly enhanced older adults’ health literacy, quality of life, and positive emotions.

A health promotion program for older adults (KABAN!): effects on health literacy, quality of life, and emotions

The remote real-time patient monitoring system is a healthcare solution that uses ESP32 microcontroller and Blynk IoT cloud platform to monitor the vital signs of patients, including temperature, oxygen saturation, and heartbeat.The system also monitors the environmental factors surrounding the patient, such as temperature and humidity, and determines the GPS location of the patient.Additionally, the system includes an alarm device that alerts healthcare providers in case of emergency.In this paper we design system aims to provide continuous care and monitoring for patients, whether they are in hospitals, at home, or outside.By using Blynk IoT cloud platform, the system aims to reduce the percentage of medical errors and deaths by providing real-time monitoring of the patient's vital signs and environmental conditions, allowing healthcare providers to respond to emergencies quickly and efficiently.The IoT-based patient monitoring system consists of sensors that collect data on the patient's vital signs and environmental factors.The collected data is transmitted wirelessly to the Blynk IoT cloud platform, where it is processed and analyzed.Healthcare providers can access the data through the Blynk mobile app and receive alerts in case of any abnormalities or emergencies. 

Design Remote Monitoring System for Patients at Real-Time based on Internet of Things (IoT)

Against the backdrop of aging populations worldwide, physical activity programs aimed at promoting the health of older adults have begun to flourish. However, few studies have focused on elderly residents in rural areas who may have multiple comorbidities. Therefore, the current study aimed to investigate the effects of a 12-week physical activity program on health promotion among rural elderly with multiple diseases. The study included 18 elderly participants, with a mean age of 82.39 years, who had dementia and one or more additional diseases. Among the participants, 89% were female. The results showed that the 12-week physical activity program intervention significantly improved participants’ walking speed and range of motion of the arm joints. Based on these findings, it is hoped that this study will provide a reference for future researchers and practitioners targeting rural or elderly populations who may have multiple diseases to develop more comprehensive physical activity programs.

Effectiveness of Comprehensive Physical Activity Health Promotion Program on the Essential Physical Functions of Older Patients With Multiple Diseases and Dementia in Rural Area

The human body has tremendous self-healing capacity and regeneration after injuries and pathogen invasions. These factors are particularly important in older adults which take longer to heal and recover physically. In addition to clinical investigations, perspectives from both experts in the field and the living experiences of the general public could play significant roles to enhance the body’s healing mechanisms in older adults. A semi-structured interview was conducted which included 15 participants (9 experts and 6 older adults aged 65 years and older). Content analysis with an inductive approach was employed about participants’ experiences and perspectives. All participants in this study revealed that self-healing mechanisms can be enhanced through physiological, psychological, and socio-environmental factors. When more of these factors can be integrated into a recovery management plan, it can hasten self-healing in older adults. Social capability has a profound impact on an individual’s mental health while oral health and hygiene significantly affect the nutritional intake status. In regards to physical aspects, regular daily activity patterns, nutritious eating, moderate exercise, and sleep quality are significant, while psychological aspects such as cheerfulness, positive attitudes, and good interpersonal relationships can help control chronic diseases.
