Saccharated ferric oxide (SFO)-induced osteomalacia: In vitro inhibition by SFO of bone formation and 1,25-dihydroxy-vitamin D production in renal tubules
TL;DR: In primary culture of neonatal mouse renal tubules, SFO significantly inhibited PTH-induced production of 1,25-(OH)2D3 at 30 mumol/L, which is attainable in the urine of patients receiving a therapeutic intravenous dose of SFO.

17 β-estradiol increases calcium content in fetal mouse parietal bones cultured in serum-free medium only at physiological concentrations

TL;DR: It is suggested that 17 beta-estradiol elicits small, but reproducible, direct effects on calcium content in the parietal bones not only in female but also in male fetal mice at physiological-free E2 concentrations (10(-12)-10(-11) mol/L), which is attainable in serum of normal human subjects.
