Genetic diversity of Helicobacter pylori indexed with respect to clinical symptomatology, using a 16S rRNA and a species‐specific DNA probe
TL;DR: Two DNA probes are described which identify group and fingerprint strains of the human gastric pathogen Helicobacter pylori, on the basis of well-defined band homologies, and no significant association between the genotypes at this level of definition and the associated clinical symptomatology of the isolates was detected.

TL;DR: In this paper , Wistar rats from both sexes were treated for 28 days with acesulfame potassium (40 and 120 mg/kg body weight) and saccharin (20 and 100 mg/ kg body weight). Targeted MS-based metabolome profiling and fecal 16S gene sequencing were conducted.

Connecting Gut Microbial Diversity with Plasma Metabolome and Fecal Bile Acid Changes Induced by the Antibiotics Tobramycin and Colistin Sulfate.
Aishwarya Murali,Varun Giri,Franziska M. Zickgraf,Philipp Ternes,H. Cameron,Saskia Sperber,Volker Haake,Peter Driemert,Hennicke Kamp,Dorothee Funk-Weyer,Shana J. Sturla,Ivonne M.C.M. Rietjens,Bennard van Ravenzwaay +12 more
TL;DR: In this paper , a 28-day oral treatment with the antibiotics tobramycin or colistin sulfate was found to cause a strong reduction in the diversity and relative abundance of the microbiome of Wistar rats.

riboCleaner: a pipeline to identify and quantify rRNA read contamination from RNA-seq data in plants
TL;DR: RiboCleaner, a bioinformatics pipeline designed to identify misannotated gene models in rDNA regions and quantify rRNA-derived reads in RNA-seq data, is created and shown the applicability of riboCleaner in several plant genome assemblies.
Gut Microbiota as Well as Metabolomes of Wistar Rats Recover within Two Weeks after Doripenem Antibiotic Treatment
Aishwarya Murali,Franziska M. Zickgraf,Philipp Ternes,Varun Giri,H. Cameron,Saskia Sperber,Volker Haake,Peter Driemert,Hennicke Kamp,Dorothee Funk Weyer,Shana J. Sturla,Ivonne M.C.M. Rietjens,Bennard van Ravenzwaay +12 more
TL;DR: In this article , two poorly bioavailable carbapenem antibiotics (doripenem and meropenem) were administered in a 28-day oral study to male and female Wistar rats.
