A new intravenous fat emulsion containing soybean oil, medium-chain triglycerides, olive oil, and fish oil: a single-center, double-blind randomized study on efficacy and safety in pediatric patients receiving home parenteral nutrition.
Olivier Goulet,H. Antebi,Claude Wolf,Cécile Talbotec,L.G. Alcindor,Odile Corriol,M. Lamor,Virginie Colomb-Jung +7 more
TL;DR: SMOFlipid 20%, which contains 15% fish oil, was safe and well tolerated, decreased plasma bilirubin, and increased ω-3 FA and α-tocopherol status without changing lipid peroxidation.

Long-term efficacy and safety of a new olive oil–based intravenous fat emulsion in pediatric patients: a double-blind randomized study
O. Goulet,S. De Potter,H. Antebi,F. Driss,Virginie Colomb,Gilbert Bereziat,L.G. Alcindor,Odile Corriol,A. Le Brun,G. Dutot,D. Forget,V. Pérennec,Claude Ricour +12 more
TL;DR: The olive oil- based emulsion was well tolerated, maintained a normal EFA status, and may be more suitable for prevention of lipid peroxidation than the soybean-oil-based emulsion.

Liver function and plasma antioxidant status in intensive care unit patients requiring total parenteral nutrition: comparison of 2 fat emulsions
TL;DR: The lower increase of plasma liver enzymes and phospholipids/apo A1 ratio in the SMOF group suggest a better liver function than in the LIPOVEN group, which results in a higher liver mobilization and plasma levels of lipophilic antioxidants.

Increased ability of LDL from normolipidemic type 2 diabetic women to generate peroxides.
Bruno Guerci,H. Antebi,Laurent Meyer,V. Durlach,Olivier Ziegler,Jean-Pierre Nicolas,L.G. Alcindor,Pierre Drouin +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the ability of LDL to form peroxides was assessed by measuring the thiobarbituric acid-reactive substances corrected for LDL-cholesterol.

Vitamin E and coronary heart disease in Tunisians.
Moncef Feki,Malek Souissi,Elyes Mokhtar,M. Hsairi,Naziha Kaabachi,H. Antebi,Louis Gérald Alcindor,Rachid Mechmeche,Abderraouf Mebazaa +8 more
TL;DR: In CHD patients, lower lipid-adjusted VE was associated with enhanced LDL susceptibility to oxidation but without alteration of the serum fatty acid profile, supporting the hypothesis that VE plays a role in preventing atherosclerosis.
