Human milk polyunsaturated long-chain fatty acids and secretory immunoglobulin A antibodies and early childhood allergy.
TL;DR: Investigation of the composition of polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) and secretory immunoglobulin A (S‐IgA) levels to food proteins and an inhalant allergen (cat) in milk from mothers of allergic and non‐allergic children showed that changes in the levels of milk PUFA were reflected in changes in PUFA serum phospholipids, particularly for the n‐6 PUFA.

Fatty acid composition in colostrum and mature milk from non-atopic and atopic mothers during the first 6 months of lactation
TL;DR: The findings suggest that the LCP metabolism in human milk is disturbed in atopic mothers, as indicated by the lower relative levels of some LCP at 1 month, higher ratios of n‐6 to n‐3 LCP and poor correlations between the levels of the various compounds during the first 3 months of lactation.

Polyunsaturated fatty acids in school children in relation to allergy and serum IgE levels
Guo Yu,Bengt Björkstén +1 more
TL;DR: The relative levels of docosahexaenoic acid (DHA, C22:6n‐3) and total n‐3 long‐chain polyunsaturated fatty acids (LCP) were lower in the 12 allergic children with positive skin prick test, as compared with the SIT negative children and in non‐allergic children, the levels of total n-3 correlated with n‐6 LCP (r = 0.76, p < 0.001).

Polyunsaturated fatty acids in breast milk in relation to atopy in the mother and her child.
TL;DR: Polyunsaturated fatty acids in breast milk in relation to atopy in the mother and her child and the role of breastfeeding in this relation is investigated.
