The weed inventory in an arid land takes place to know and further control these plants. The study aims are to determine taxonomy, life form, chorology and to appreciate the weed harmfulness. A non-probabilistic sampling was conducted on five crops. We identified 41 species especially therophytes and mostly belong to the Mediterranean biogeographic element. The floristic richness by crop lets an average of 17 species and 24 for the richest. To assess the noxiousness, the partial indication of noxious obtains 21 potentially harmful weeds according to the frequencies. The numerical analysis of the data identified five groups. The weed noxiousness estimated by the abundance, frequency, and recovery, remains simple and efficient.

This experiment was aimed to study the effect of the interaction of herbicides and varieties with different types of foliar nutrition in production the highest yield for three wheat varieties. A field experiment was carried out at the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences - University of Baghdad / Jadiriyah for two seasons, as the seeds of the first season were sown on 13/12/2018 and harvested on 15/5/2019, and the seeds of the second season were sown on 4/12/2019 and harvested on 10/5/2020. The randomized complete block design (RCBD) was used in the arrangement of split plots, the nutrition included the main plots, while the varieties with herbicides treatments occupied the secondary plots with three replications. The treatment of V3H3 was significantly superior in achieving the highest average in the grain yield value 4.75 and 5.10 ton h-1 for the two seasons, respectively. As for the nutrition, treatment F3 gave the highest average in the grain yield amounted to 4.74 and 4.69 ton ha-1 for the two seasons, respectively. It could be concluded that V3H3 the best treatment to compete with the weeds by giving it the highest yield. Also, It is noted that the leaves feeding treatments all led to a significant increases in the yield and some of its components despite the normal fertilization treatment was the best treatment by giving it the highest grain yield and a significant increases in two of the yield components.

Effect of palm pollen,pumpkin extract, nano fertilizer and their interactions with wheat herbicides

Abstract Nanoherbicides are articulated by exploiting the prospective of nanotechnology for effectively delivering chemical and biological herbicides using nanomaterial‐based herbicide combinations. The nanoparticles were characterized using X-ray diffraction and FT-IR. On the targeted weeds, the nanoherbicides were sprayed at the third to fourth leaf stage. Six different doses were applied. The mortality and visual injury caused by both chitosan-based nanoherbicides reached 100% at the recommended dose of standard herbicide. The 5-fold lower dose exhibited weed density and maximum wheat yield and related parameters. For the same traits, the nanoherbicide at 10-fold lower dose of commercial herbicides showed a comparable influence as the suggested dose. The size of both herbicides was found to be 35–65 nm. It was observed that the clodinofop-propargyl nanoherbicide has an intense peak appearing at a 2 θ value of 29.83°, corresponding to the (176) plane of the anatase phase and NPs of fenoxaprop- P -ethyl showed an intense peak around the 2 θ value of 30.55° corresponding to the (74) plane of the anatase phase. The FT-IR spectra of fenoxaprop- P -ethyl clearly showed that the major functional groups were located in the FT-IR region between 610 and 1,840 cm −1 and the major functional ones of clodinofop propargyl were located in the FT-IR region between 640 and 1,740 cm −1 . Nanoherbicides could restore the efficacy of conventional herbicides by improving stability and reducing toxicity.

Broad Leaved Weed’s Seed Bank and Flora Dynamics in Wheat as Affected by Different Herbicides

: Peach is one of the most important fruit crops in the world with wider ecological adaptation which has been cultivated in sub-tropical to temperate climates. In spite of its economic importance, its production has been affected by various abiotic and biotic factors. Therefore, the objective of this study was to assess the effect of non-selective herbicides against peach weeds. Treatments consisted of three post emergence non selective herbicides; Glynosh @ 1.75kg/ha, Glynosh @1.75 L ha -1 , Glyphosate@ 2L ha -1 along with weedy check that were laid out in RCBD with three replications. The field was infested with nine weed species in which five species were annual weeds, three species were perennial weeds and one species was under category of biennial. The maximum relative weed density (17.38) was calculated from Cynodon dactylon L. while minimum (3.90) number was observed from Centella asiatica L. The result also showed that application of all herbicides had no statistically significant differences on Bidens pilosa L., Medicago polymorpha L., Palntago lanceoleta L. and Raphanus raphanistrum L. except for weedy check. In addition, application of Glyphosate IPA 480gm. /lit, 48% SL and Glyphosate produced statistically no significant differences on the remaining weed species. Application of all herbicides revealed statistically no significant differences in terms of weed dry weight while better weed control efficiency and fruit yield was obtained from application of Glyphosate IPA 480gm. /lit, 48% SL at all experimental sites. Furthermore, there is no phytotoxicity was observed due to candidate herbicide if applied with great care in between row planted peach. Thus, Glynosh 1.75 L/ha is recommended for control of various annual and perennial weeds in peach.

Physiological Responses Non Selective Post Emergence Herbicides to Various Weeds in Peach Field

W (Triticum aetsivum L.) is the staple food of Pakistan and it ranked 1st among crops. It is an important cereal crop of Pothwar Region of Pakistan. It contributes about 10% to the agriculture and 2.1% to total GDP of the Country (ESP, 2014-2015). Average grain yield of wheat is 2.845 t ha-1 which is very low (ESP, 2016-2017). The main reasons of this low yield of wheat in Pakistan are uncertainty of rainAbstract | Weeds infestation is the serious problems of wheat crop of Pothwar Region in Pakistan. To find out the remedy of the said issues a field experiment was conducted at University Research Farm, Chakwal Road, Rawalpindi during 2015-16 to investigate the effect of different herbicides and sowing methods on wheat productivity and population dynamics of weeds. Different wheat sowing methods (S) were Broadcasting, Line sowing, Ridge sowing, Bed sowing and herbicides used were Ally Max, Clean wave, Starane M. and Buctril Super 60 Ec. The experiment was laid out in RCBD with split plot arrangement having three replications. Hand weeded (weed free), and weedy check (control) plots were also maintained for comparison in each replication. The recorded data were analyzed using Fishers analysis of variance technique and means were compared by using the least significant differences test (LSD) at 5% level of significance. Most of the studied parameters showed significant results (P≤0.05) for yield and weed indices. The results showed that highest weed control efficiency (41.86%) was recorded for hand weeding followed by Ally Max (30.8%) which were significantly different from each other; while, in case of sowing methods, weed control efficiency was maximum (24.08%) for ridge sowing method. Similarly, grain yield was maximum (3.09 t ha-1) under the plot where hand weeding was performed followed by the plot where Ally max (2.68 t ha-1) was applied; whereas, highest yield was (2.84 t ha-1) obtained from line sowing method. So, it is concluded and recommended that for controlling broadleaved weeds hand weeding otherwise Ally Max herbicide through line sowing method results in a good yield of rain fed wheat.
