A lidar system based on stimulated Brillouin scattering
TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of stimulated Brillouin scattering in remote sensing of the ocean is investigated, and it is shown that by means of this technique, the signal-to-noise ratio of the LiDAR can be increased by about 50 times.

Linear and Nonlinear Fano Resonance on two-dimensional Magnetic Metamaterials
Haoliang Liu,Haoliang Liu,Guixin Li,King Fai Li,Shumei Chen,Shining Zhu,Che Ting Chan,Kok Wai Cheah +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, both linear and nonlinear Fano resonances can be realized on two-dimensional magnetic metamaterials by fine tailoring the geometrical parameters of the magnetic device to a near-infrared wavelength (1.61-1.8 µm).

Moiré Fringe Induced Gauge Field in Photonics.
Wenhui Wang,Wenlong Gao,Xiao Dong Chen,Fu-Long Shi,Guixin Li,Jian-Wen Dong,Yuanjiang Xiang,Shuang Zhang,Shuang Zhang +8 more
TL;DR: Benefitting from the generated strong effective gauge field, direct measurement of the band diagrams of both Landau level flat bands and intermagnetic-domain edge states is reported, serving as an evidence of the noncommuteness between orthogonal components of the momentum.
Nonlinear Diatomic Metasurface for Real and Fourier Space Image Encoding.
Ningbin Mao,Ningbin Mao,Junhong Deng,Xuecai Zhang,Yutao Tang,Yutao Tang,Mingke Jin,Yang Li,Yang Li,Xuan Liu,Kingfai Li,Tun Cao,Kok Wai Cheah,Hong Wang,Jack C. Ng,Guixin Li +15 more
TL;DR: The proposed nonlinear diatomic metasurface provides an ultracompact platform for implementing multi-dimensional optical information encoding and may hold great potentials in optical information security and optical anti-counterfeiting.
