Natural attenuation reactions at a uranium mill tailings site, western U.S.A.
TL;DR: A modeling analysis of the geochemical evolution of a contaminated sandy aquifer at a uranium mill tailings site in the western United States shows that reactions with surface-bound species will dominate the reaction paths, and more pore volumes are required to neutralize the plume than predicted by models that do not consider surface reactions.

Functionalized epigallocatechin gallate copolymer inhibit dentin matrices degradation: Mechanical, solubilized telopeptide and proteomic assays.
Anuradha Prakki,Yaoyang Xiong,Janaína Freitas Bortolatto,Lucélia Lemes Gonçalves,Arwa Bafail,Greg Anderson,Alexander Terry Stavroullakis +6 more
TL;DR: This study demonstrates specific antiproteolytic effect and protein interactions of EGCG copolymer extract directly on dentin which represents an advancement in dental materials which can impact the clinical procedures.

Thermodynamics of Natural Systems: Theory and Applications in Geochemistry and Environmental Science
Greg Anderson
- 02 Jun 2017
TL;DR: The first four chapters explain all necessary concepts via a simple graphical approach, and the rest of the book emphasizes the importance of field observations and demonstrates that, despite being derived from idealized circumstances, thermodynamics is crucial to understanding ore formation, acid mine drainage, and other real-world geochemical and geophysical problems as discussed by the authors.
