Highly Reproducible Sn-Based Hybrid Perovskite Solar Cells with 9% Efficiency
Shuyan Shao,Jian Liu,Giuseppe Portale,Hong-Hua Fang,Graeme R. Blake,Gert H. ten Brink,L. Jan Anton Koster,Maria Antonietta Loi +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, a 2D/3D-based hybrid perovskite solar cells (HPSCs) with the orthorhombic a-axis in the out-of-plane direction were shown to achieve a power conversion efficiency of 9.0% in planar p-i-n device structure.

A rhombohedral ferroelectric phase in epitaxially strained Hf0.5Zr0.5O2 thin films.
Yingfen Wei,Pavan Nukala,Pavan Nukala,Mart Salverda,Sylvia Matzen,Hong Jian Zhao,Jamo Momand,Arnoud Everhardt,Guillaume Agnus,Graeme R. Blake,Philippe Lecoeur,Bart J. Kooi,Jorge Íñiguez,Brahim Dkhil,Beatriz Noheda +14 more
TL;DR: Ferroelectric hafnia occurs only in a thin-film orthorhombic phase that needs wake-up cycling to induce ferroelectricity, so results point towards thin films of simple oxides as a vastly unexplored class of nanoscale ferroelectrics.

Photophysics of Organic-Inorganic Hybrid Lead Iodide Perovskite Single Crystals
Hong-Hua Fang,Raissa Raissa,Mustapha Abdu-Aguye,Sampson Adjokatse,Graeme R. Blake,Jacky Even,Maria Antonietta Loi +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the structural and optical properties of CH3NH3PbI3 from room temperature to 5 K were investigated, and X-ray diffraction reveals an extremely sharp transition at 163 K from a twinned tetragonal I4/mcm phase to a low temperature phase characterized by complex twinning and possible frozen disorder.

Ultrahigh sensitivity of methylammonium lead tribromide perovskite single crystals to environmental gases
Hong-Hua Fang,Sampson Adjokatse,Haotong Wei,Jie Yang,Graeme R. Blake,Jinsong Huang,Jacky Even,Maria Antonietta Loi +7 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that the surface recombination rate (or surface trap state density) in methylammonium lead tribromide (MAPbBr3) single crystals can be fully and reversibly controlled by the physisorption of oxygen and water molecules, leading to a modulation of the photoluminescence intensity by over two orders of magnitude.
Structural Anomalies and Multiferroic Behavior in Magnetically Frustrated TbMn2O5
Laurent Chapon,Graeme R. Blake,Graeme R. Blake,Matthias J. Gutmann,Soonyong Park,Namjung Hur,Paolo G. Radaelli,S-W. Cheong +7 more
TL;DR: The magnetostructural phase diagram of multiferroic TbMn2O5 is studied as a function of temperature and magnetic field by neutron diffraction, finding the geometrically frustrated magnetic structure is stabilized by "canted antiferroelectric" displacements of the Mn3+ ions.
