Experimental study on RC T-section beams with an FRP-strengthened web opening
TL;DR: Test results presented in this paper show that a sizable web opening can effectively reduce the flexural capacity of a T-section beam and the FRP strengthening system is needed to avoid shear failure of the beam and confine the web chord created by the opening to ensure a ductile response.

Effect of load distribution on IC debonding in FRP-strengthened RC beams: Full-scale experiments
TL;DR: In this article, the effect of load distribution on IC debonding in FRP-strengthened RC beams has been investigated, and the results indicated that increasing the load uniformity and shortening the shear span both had a beneficial effect on the maximum moment in the beam, and led to an increase in the mid-span moment by up to 18.5%.

Robust topology optimization of multi-material structures under load uncertainty using the alternating active-phase method
TL;DR: An efficient method for robust multi-material topology optimization problems of continuum structures under load uncertainty by employing an alternating active-phase algorithm of the Gauss-Seidel version and using the orthogonal diagonalization of real symmetric matrices is proposed.

Improving the overall performance of continuum structures: A topology optimization model considering stiffness, strength and stability
TL;DR: A topology optimization model considering the three vital performance indices is formulated by taking stress and buckling constrained continuum structures for compliance minimization and stable convergence of the iterative solution process is achieved.
