Psychological Stresses in Children Trigger Cytokine- and Kynurenine Metabolite-Mediated Abdominal Pain and Proinflammatory Changes
Kyaimon Myint,Kelly R. Jacobs,Aye Mu Myint,Sau Kuen Lam,Yvonne A. L. Lim,Christopher Chiong Meng Boey,See Ziau Hoe,Gilles J. Guillemin +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, the concentrations of inflammatory markers, including cytokines and tryptophan catabolites, in the serum of children with recurrent abdominal pain (RAP) compared to those with subclinical infections were assessed.
Erratum to: Neuroprotective Effect of Natural Products Against Alzheimer’s Disease

TL;DR: Several misspellings have been identified in the manuscript by Essa et al. entitled ‘‘Neuroprotective Effect of Natural Products Against Alzheimer’s Disease’’ and corrections are noted.
Activation of the Kynurenine Pathway and Production of Inflammatory Cytokines by Astrocytes and Microglia Infected With Neospora caninum
Deivison Silva Argolo,Julita Maria Pereira Borges,L. S. Freitas,Gizelle Alves Pina,Maria Socorro Grangeiro,Victor Diogenes Amaral da Silva,A.M. Pinheiro,Rodrigo Souza Conceição,Alexsandro Branco,Gilles J. Guillemin,Silvia Lima Costa,Maria de Fátima Dias Costa +11 more
TL;DR: Findings suggest that glial activation in N. caninum infection should be responsible for modulating the inflammatory status in an attempt to restore the nervous system homeostasis, since excessive inflammatory response can cause irreversible damage to tissue preservation.

Effect of Pongamia pinnata leaves on serum lipids in ammonium chloride induced experimental hyperammonemic rats
Mohamed M. Essa,Amanat Ali,Mostafa I. Waly,Gilles J. Guillemin,Perumal Subramanian +4 more
- 01 Jul 2010
TL;DR: The results indicate that PPEt offers protection by influencing the levels of ammonia and lipid profiles in experimental hyperammonemia and this could be due to its ability to detoxify excess ammonia, urea and creatinine, and free radical scavenging property both in vitro and in vivo.

Exploring Hikikomori-like idiom of distress a year into the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic in Oman: Factorial validity of the 25-item Hikikomori Questionnaire, prevalence and associated factors
Nasser Al-Sibani,Moon Fai Chan,Salim Al-Huseini,Nutaila Al Kharusi,Gilles J. Guillemin,Mohammed Al Abri,Aishwarya Ganesh,Yousuf Al Hasani,Samir Al-Adawi +8 more
TL;DR: The factorial validity of the HQ-25 performed in this study appears to mirror the previously reported 3-factor structures, and some of the associated factors appear to support and, conversely, dissent from the findings of previous studies.
