Anti-adhesion activity of two biosurfactants produced by Bacillus spp. prevents biofilm formation of human bacterial pathogens.
TL;DR: Two biosurfactant-producing strains, Bacillus subtilis and Bacillus licheniformis, have been characterized and showed interesting specific anti-adhesion activity being able to inhibit selectively biofilm formation of two pathogenic strains.

LC/ESI-MS/MS characterisation of lipopeptide biosurfactants produced by the Bacillus licheniformis V9T14 strain
TL;DR: The chemical characterisation of the crude extract of V9T14 strain showed an interesting anti-adhesion activity against biofilm formation of human pathogenic bacterial strains, and a relative percentage content of each homologue for both lipopeptides families in the whole extract was proposed.

Cannflavins from hemp sprouts, a novel cannabinoid-free hemp food product, target microsomal prostaglandin E2 synthase-1 and 5-lipoxygenase
Oliver Werz,Julia Seegers,Anja M. Schaible,Christina Weinigel,Dagmar Barz,Andreas Koeberle,Gianna Allegrone,Federica Pollastro,Lorenzo Zampieri,Gianpaolo Grassi,Giovanni Appendino +10 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors found that sprouting, while not triggering the production of cannabinoids, could nevertheless induce the anti-inflammatory prenylflavonoids cannflavins A and B. This effect was especially marked in Ermo, a cannabinoid-free variety of Cannabis sativa L.

The High-Resolution Crystal Structure of Periplasmic Haemophilus Influenzae Nad Nucleotidase Reveals a Novel Enzymatic Function of Human Cd73 Related to Nad Metabolism.
Silvia Garavaglia,Santina Bruzzone,Camilla Cassani,Laura Canella,Gianna Allegrone,Laura Sturla,Elena Mannino,Enrico Millo,Antonio De Flora,Menico Rizzi +9 more
TL;DR: Sequence and structural analysis of H. influenzae NadN led us to discover that human CD73 is capable of processing both NAD and NMN, therefore disclosing a possible novel function of humanCD73 in systemic NAD metabolism.

Simultaneous, stability indicating, HPLC-DAD determination of guaifenesin and methyl and propyl-parabens in cough syrup.
TL;DR: The method demonstrated also to be accurate; indeed the average recoveries, at 100% of the target assay concentration, were 100.5, 100.3, and 100.7% with relative standard deviations of 0.8, 0.7, and 0.4% for GUA, MHB, and PHB from laboratory prepared samples.
