Neutral noble gas compounds exhibiting a Xe–Xe bond: structure, stability and bonding situation
Israel Fernández,Gernot Frenking +1 more
TL;DR: The structure and stability towards decomposition of eight novel noble gas compounds having a Xe-Xe bond, which have not been experimentally observed so far, have been studied computationally and indicate that the replacement of the fluorine atom by a heavier group 17 congener in the HXexeX series leads to a less stable compound, thus making more difficult its experimental observation.

[2+2] versus [3+2] Addition of Metal Oxides Across CC Double Bonds: Toward an Understanding of the Surprising Chemo- and Periselectivity of Transition-Metal-Oxide Additions to Ketene†
TL;DR: Practical evidence is given for a zwitterionic intermediate that is formed by nucleophilic attack at the carbonyl moiety and undergoes a subsequent cyclization yielding the thermodynamically favored product.

Comparison of Two Phosphinidenes Binding to Silicon(IV)dichloride as well as to Silylene.
Subrata Kundu,Soumen Sinhababu,Mujahuddin M. Siddiqui,Anna V. Luebben,Birger Dittrich,Tao Yang,Gernot Frenking,Herbert W. Roesky +7 more
TL;DR: Compounds 2 and 3 are the first examples where two terminal phosphinidenes are binding each to a silicon center characterized by single crystal X-ray structural analysis.

Donor-Stabilized Antimony(I) and Bismuth(I) Ions: Heavier Valence Isoelectronic Analogues of Carbones.
Mujahuddin M. Siddiqui,Samir Kumar Sarkar,Mohd Nazish,Massimiliano Morganti,Christian Köhler,Jiali Cai,Lili Zhao,Regine Herbst-Irmer,Dietmar Stalke,Gernot Frenking,Herbert W. Roesky +10 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the first donor-stabilized two-coordinate SbI and Bi(I) ions were reported and well-characterized by NMR spectroscopy, cyclic voltammetry, single-crystal X-ray diffraction, and computational studies.

Reaction Pathways for Addition of H2 to Amido-Ditetrylynes R2N–EE–NR2 (E = Si, Ge, Sn). A Theoretical Study
TL;DR: In this article, the reaction profiles for addition of one and two H2 molecules to amido-substituted ditetrylynes have been carried out using density functional theory at the BP86/def2-TZVPP/BP86/Def2-SVPP level of theory.
