Inhibition of TGF-beta2 with AP 12009 in recurrent malignant gliomas: from preclinical to phase I/II studies.
Peter Hau,Piotr Jachimczak,Reimar Schlingensiepen,Frank J. Schulmeyer,Tanya Jauch,Andreas Steinbrecher,Alexander Brawanski,Martin Proescholdt,J. Schlaier,Johanna Buchroithner,Josef Pichler,Gabriele Wurm,Maximilian Mehdorn,Rainer Strege,Gerhard Schuierer,Victoria Villarrubia,Franz A. Fellner,Olav Jansen,Thorsten Straube,Virinder Nohria,Michael Goldbrunner,Mechthild Kunst,S. Schmaus,Gerhard Stauder,Ulrich Bogdahn,Karl-Hermann Schlingensiepen +25 more
TL;DR: Results implicate targeted TGF-beta2-suppression using AP 12009 as a promising novel approach for malignant gliomas and other highly aggressive, T GF-beta-2-overexpressing tumors.

Intracerebral and intrathecal infusion of the TGF-beta 2-specific antisense phosphorothioate oligonucleotide AP 12009 in rabbits and primates: toxicology and safety.
Reimar Schlingensiepen,Michael Goldbrunner,Mara Szyrach,Gerhard Stauder,Piotr Jachimczak,Ulrich Bogdahn,Frank Schulmeyer,Peter Hau,Karl-Hermann Schlingensiepen +8 more
TL;DR: Evidence is provided that long-term continuous infusion of highly purified antisense phosphorothioate oligodeoxynucleotides (S-ODN) into brain parenchyma is well tolerated and thus highly suitable for in vivo application, and proves the suitability of AP 12009 for local administration in brain tumor patients from the point of view of toxicology.

Use of an oligonucleotide or its active derivative for the preparation of a pharmaceutical composition for inhibiting the formation of metastases in cancer treatment
Karl-Hermann Dr. Schlingensiepen,Reimar Schlingensiepen,Piotr Jachimczak,Gerhard Stauder,Astrid Dr. Bischof,Michael Hafner,Tamara Dr. Egger +6 more
- 28 Feb 2005
TL;DR: In this paper, the use of IL-10 antisense oligonucleotides for the preparation of pharmaceutical compositions and for the treatment of cancer and metastases is discussed. But, the authors do not mention the use in this paper.

TGF-beta2 suppression in pancreatic cancer by the antisense oligonucleotide AP 12009: Preclinical efficacy data
Karl-Hermann Schlingensiepen,Gerhard Stauder,Astrid Dr. Bischof,Tamara Dr. Egger,Michael Hafner,Hedda Herrmuth,Marcus Kielmanowicz,Piotr Jachimczak +7 more
TL;DR: Based on the preclinical efficacy in tumor proliferation, migration and inhibition of escape from immunosurveillance, the favorable toxicity profile in animal studies, and the successful application of AP 12009 in clinical studies with glioma patients, a multi-site dose-escalation trial with AP12009 in pancreatic carcinoma is currently in preparation.
