Impact of organic cation transporters (OCT-SLC22A) on differential diagnosis of intrahepatic lesions
Michele Visentin,Belle V. van Rosmalen,Christian Hiller,M. Bieze,Lia Hofstetter,Joanne Verheij,Gerd A. Kullak-Ublick,Hermann Koepsell,Saffire S.K.S. Phoa,Ikumi Tamai,Roelof J. Bennink,Thomas M. van Gulik,Bruno Stieger +12 more
TL;DR: The hypothesis that the varying expression levels of OCT1 and OCT3 in focal liver lesions determine FCH PET signal intensity is supported, and OCT1 is very likely a key transporter for the accumulation of FCH in the liver.

Plasma Membrane Cholesterol Regulates the Allosteric Binding of 1-Methyl-4-Phenylpyridinium to Organic Cation Transporter 2 (SLC22A2).
TL;DR: It is suggested that changes in cellular cholesterol content can dramatically alter OCT2-mediated transport, potentially resulting in abnormal tubular secretion and unexpected drug toxicity and drug–drug interactions.

Expression of a rat liver phosphatidylcholine translocator in Xenopus laevis oocytes
TL;DR: The data indicate that there are at least two separate polypeptides involved in phospholipid translocation from hepatocytes into bile, which is similar to the value previously obtained in isolated rat liver canalicular plasma membrane vesicles for an adenosine triphosphate–independent phosphatidylcholine translocator.

Effect of ABCB1 Genotype on Pre- and Post-Cardiac Transplantation Plasma Lipid Concentrations
Anne B. Taegtmeyer,J. Breen,John D. Smith,P. Rogers,Gerd A. Kullak-Ublick,Magdi H. Yacoub,Nicholas R. Banner,Nicholas R. Banner,Paul J.R. Barton +8 more
TL;DR: An association between ABCB1 haplotype and plasma fasting LDL cholesterol concentration was found in patients with advanced heart failure and was not seen 1 year after cardiac transplantation.
