Meta-Analysis on the Use of Zidovudine and Interferon-Alfa in Adult T-Cell Leukemia/Lymphoma Showing Improved Survival in the Leukemic Subtypes
Ali Bazarbachi,Yves Plumelle,Juan Carlos Ramos,Patricia Tortevoye,Zaher K. Otrock,Graham P. Taylor,Antoine Gessain,William J. Harrington,Gérard Panelatti,Olivier Hermine +9 more
TL;DR: A meta-analysis of antiviral therapy of ATL confirmed the high efficacy of AZT and IFN, which should now be considered the gold standard first-line therapy in leukemic subtypes of ATL.

Effect of Strongyloides stercoralis infection and eosinophilia on age at onset and prognosis of adult T-cell leukemia.
Yves Plumelle,Claire Gonin,André Edouard,Bernard Bucher,Lian F. Thomas,A. Brebion,Gérard Panelatti +6 more
TL;DR: The data confirm that cofactors related to the environment, such as S stercoralis and hypereosinophilia associated with S stERCoralis or human T-cell leukemia virus, type 1 (HTLV- 1) might be important in HTLV-1-associated leukemogenesis and suggest that hypereOS inophilia affects the prognosis of HTLV 1-associated leukemia.

Treatment of adult T-cell leukemia-lymphoma by CHOP followed by therapy with antinucleosides, alpha interferon and oral etoposide
Caroline Besson,Gérard Panelatti,Christine Delaunay,Claire Gonin,A. Brebion,Olivier Hermine,Yves Plumelle +6 more
TL;DR: The progression of survival since 1995 suggests that a therapeutic approach combining initial polychemotherapy with CHOP followed by ARV drugs, IFN and oral etoposide is an interesting option in treating patients with ATLL.

Incidence of hematological malignancies in Martinique, French West Indies, overrepresentation of multiple myeloma and adult T cell leukemia/lymphoma
TL;DR: The incidence and epidemiological features of hematological malignancies from the 715 new cases diagnosed between 1990 and 1998 among the adult population, found a high incidence of multiple myeloma and a high proportion of T cell NHL among NHL (57%).

Retinal Vasculitis Caused by Adult T-cell Leukemia/Lymphoma
TL;DR: A single case of retinal vasculitis associated with HTLV-1 was observed among 83 cases of adult T-cell leukemia treated in the University Hospital Center in Fort-de-France, confirming the geographic variability of the clinical phenotype of HT LV-1 infection.
