Message Passing: Towards Low-Complexity, Global Optimal Routing and Wavelength Assignment Solutions for Optical Networks
Ruijie Luo,Yi-Zhi Xu,Robin Matzner,Georgios Zervas,David Saad,Polina Bayvel +5 more
- 01 Mar 2022
TL;DR: In this article , a polynomial-time distributed message passing algorithm for routing and wavelength assignment is proposed for small-scale networks and improvements are demonstrated on network scales beyond the reach of established global algorithms.
QoS-enabled distributed access on optical Burst-Switched networks
Joan Triay,Georgios Zervas,Cristina Cervello-Pastor,Reza Nejabati,Dimitra Simeonidou +4 more
- 01 Feb 2010
TL;DR: Results indicate that the protocol can clearly provide a relative differentiation of services and guarantee null (or negligible) burst loss probability for a wide network (or offered) load range and, finally, low access delay for the highest priority traffic.

Control and Transport of Time Shared Optical Networks (TSON) in Metro Areas
Georgios Zervas,Bijan Rahimzadeh Rofoee,Yan Yan,Dimitra Simeonidou,Giacomo Bernini,Gino Carrozzo,Nicola Ciulli +6 more
TL;DR: Experimental results demonstrate very high throughput, low latency and low jitter performance of the metro mesh optical node composed of vertically interoperable sub-wavelength enabled GMPLS and TSON layers.

LIGHTNESS: All-Optical SDN-enabled Intra-DCN with Optical Circuit and Packet Switching
George M. Saridis,Alejandro Aguado,Yan Yan,Wang Miao,Nicola Calabretta,Georgios Zervas,Dimitra Simeonidou +6 more
- 01 Jan 2018
TL;DR: The proposed LIGHTNESS DCN architecture aims at a flat all-optical interconnection design by combining optical circuit switching (OCS) and optical packet switching (OPS) technologies, improving the energy efficiency and cost efficiency of present EPS-only solutions.
