NMR study of Met-1 human Angiogenin: 1H, 13C, 15N backbone and side-chain resonance assignment
Aikaterini C. Tsika,Demetra S.M. Chatzileontiadou,Demetres D. Leonidas,Georgios A. Spyroulias +3 more
TL;DR: The high yield expression and preliminary structural analysis via solution hetero-nuclear NMR spectroscopy of the recombinant Met-1 human Angiogenin reveals a well folded as well as, a monomeric polypeptide.

Nontargeted 1H NMR fingerprinting and multivariate statistical analysis for traceability of Greek PDO Vostizza currants
Maria-Eleni Dimitrakopoulou,Konstantina Matzarapi,Styliani A. Chasapi,Apostolos Vantarakis,Georgios A. Spyroulias +4 more
TL;DR: Results suggest that composition differences in carbohydrates, amino, and organic acids of currants are sufficient to discriminate them in correlation to their geographical origin, and present a suitable alternative technique for currants traceability.

Unravelling the conformational plasticity of the extracellular domain of a prokaryotic nAChR homologue in solution by NMR.
Christos T. Chasapis,Aikaterini I. Argyriou,Pierre-Jean Corringer,Detlef Bentrop,Georgios A. Spyroulias +4 more
TL;DR: A solution NMR study of the extracellular domain of a prokaryotic pLGIC homologue from the bacterium Gloeobacter violaceus that is found to be a monomer in solution is presented.

A quantitative western blot technique using TMB: Comparison with the conventional technique.
Aristeidis Ntoukas,Athanasios Niarchos,Aikaterini C. Tsika,Spiridon Mantzoukas,Georgios A. Spyroulias,Konstantinos Poulas +5 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors presented a simple and reliable assay that is similar to the regular technique, with the exception of the last stage of band visualization and quantification, which can be applied for both purified proteins and proteins found in a lysate.

3D Solution Structure of [Tyr3]Octreotate Derivatives in DMSO: Structure Differentiation of Peptide Core Due to Chelate Group Attachment and Biologically Active Conformation
Georgios A. Spyroulias,Athanassios S. Galanis,Christos Petrou,D. Vahliotis,Petros Sotiriou,Anastasia Nikolopoulou,Berthold A. Nock,Theodosia Maina,Paul Cordopatis +8 more
TL;DR: The IC50 values determined during competition binding assays against the sst2 (somatostatin subtype 2 receptor) suggest that the presence of the N4 group enhances receptor affinity, while extension of peptide chain by two negatively-charged Asp residues impairs receptor affinity at approximately one order of magnitude.
