A Spitzer Space Telescope survey of extreme asymptotic giant branch stars in M32
Olivia Jones,Iain McDonald,R. M. Rich,Francisca Kemper,Martha L. Boyer,Martha L. Boyer,Albert A. Zijlstra,George J. Bendo +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigate the population of cool, evolved stars in the Local Group dwarf elliptical galaxy M32, using Infrared Array Camera observations from the Spitzer Space Telescope, and construct deep mid-infrared colour-magnitude diagrams for the resolved stellar populations within 35 arcminutes of M32's centre, and identify those stars that exhibit infrared excess.
Submillimeter line spectrum of the seyfert galaxy ngc 1068 from the herschel-spire fourier transform spectrometer*
Luigi Spinoglio,M. Pereira-Santaella,Gemma Busquet,Maximilien R. P. Schirm,Christine D. Wilson,Jason Glenn,Julia Kamenetzky,Naseem Rangwala,Philip R. Maloney,T. J. Parkin,George J. Bendo,Suzanne C. Madden,Mark G. Wolfire,Alessandro Boselli,Asantha Cooray,Mat Page +15 more
TL;DR: The first complete submillimeter spectrum (190-670 mu m) of the Seyfert 2 galaxy NGC 1068 has been observed with the SPIRE Fourier transform spectrometer on board the Herschel Space Observatory as discussed by the authors.
ALMA Observations toward the starburst dwarf galaxy NGC 5253: I. Molecular cloud properties and scaling relations
Rie E. Miura,Daniel Espada,Daniel Espada,Akihiko Hirota,Kouichiro Nakanishi,Kouichiro Nakanishi,George J. Bendo,Hajime Sugai +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors presented high-spatial-resolution observations of the nearest young starburst dwarf galaxy, NGC\,5253, taken with the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array.
Total infrared luminosity estimation of resolved and unresolved galaxies
Médéric Boquien,George J. Bendo,Daniela Calzetti,Daniel A. Dale,Charles W. Engelbracht,R. C. Kennicutt,Janice C. Lee,L. van Zee,John Moustakas +8 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors derived new relations to estimate the TIR luminosity from just one or two of the Spitzer bands, and also showed that the metallicity and the star formation intensity must be taken into account when estimating the two wave bands, especially when data longward of 24 μm are not available.
The Herschel Exploitation of Local Galaxy Andromeda (HELGA). VII. A SKIRT radiative transfer model and insights on dust heating
Sébastien Viaene,Maarten Baes,Antti Tamm,Elmo Tempel,George J. Bendo,Joris Blommaert,Joris Blommaert,Médéric Boquien,Alessandro Boselli,Peter Camps,A. Cooray,I. De Looze,I. De Looze,P. De Vis,J. A. Fernández-Ontiveros,Jacopo Fritz,Maud Galametz,Gianfranco Gentile,S. C. Madden,Matthew Smith,L. Spinoglio,S. Verstocken +21 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a panchromatic radiative transfer simulation of the Andromeda galaxy (M31) was performed using the code SKIRT, which reveals a realistic attenuation curve, compatible with previous, observational estimates.
