Finite element simulation of ultrasonic wave propagation in pipe and pressure vessel walls
TL;DR: In this paper, a 16 mm animation film is made in order to visualize the sound wave propagation in materials 2 MHz longitudinal and transversal wave paths are observed for the case of an imperfection between steel and stainless steel cladding.

Probabilistic fracture mechanics analyses of nuclear pressure vessels under PTS events
TL;DR: In this paper, a probabilistic fracture mechanics (PFM) analysis for nuclear pressure vessel (RPV) under pressurized thermal shock (PTS) events is presented.

Neural network approach to estimate stable crack growth in welded specimens
TL;DR: In this article, a hierarchical neural network was applied to the generation phase stable crack growth analysis of two kinds of welded CT specimens using the GE EPRI simplified method, and the best ratio of mixture of material constants was identified using the neural-network-based inverse analysis approach as follows.

Optimization of operation and maintenance of nuclear power plant by probabilistic fracture mechanics
TL;DR: In this article, a trial calculation for optimization of operation and maintenance of nuclear power plant was performed through calculation of costs for maintenance and electricity generation as function of inspection frequency and operational temperature following the probabilistic fracture mechanics principle.
