Role of stereochemistry in N-(3,5-dichlorophenyl)-2-hydroxysuccinamic acid (2-NDHSA) nephrotoxicity.
Gary O. Rankin,Hang Sun,Dianne K. Anestis,Okey Noe,John G. Ball,Monica A. Valentovic,Patrick I. Brown,John L. Hubbard +7 more
TL;DR: The S-isomer of 2-NDHSA is a more potent nephrotoxicant than the R-isomers of NDPS, and stereochemistry may play a role in NDPS metabolite-induced neph rotoxicity.

Effect of calcium antagonism by nifedipine and chlorpromazine on acute n-(3,5-dichlorophenyl)succinimide-induced nephrotoxicity in fischer 344 rats
Gary O. Rankin,Monica A. Valentovic,Vonda J. Teets,Derek W. Nicoll,Clinton H. Sutherland,Patrick I. Brown +5 more
TL;DR: The inability of nifedipine and CPZ to markedly attenuate NDHS nephrotoxicity could indicate that CPZ protected against NDPS neph rotoxicity by inhibiting biotransformation of the parent compound to its toxic chemical species.

Urinary enzyme excretion as a parameter for detection of acute renal damage mediated by N-(3,5-dichlorophenyl)succinimide (NDPS) in Fischer 344 rats.
TL;DR: It was concluded from these studies that measurement of urinary protein as well as the release of ALP and NAG were sensitive markers of renal damage produced by NDPS.

Synthesis of Enantiopure N-(3,5-Dichlorophenyl)-2-hydroxysuccinimides (NDHS) and N-(3,5-Dichlorophenyl)-2-hydroxysuccinimide-O-sulfates (NSC)
TL;DR: In this article, enantiomerically pure N-(3,5-dichlorophenyl)-2-hydroxysuccinimides (NDHS) and sulfates (NSC) were synthesized in order to address their selectively related nephrotoxic mechanism.
