Network of Microgrids: Opportunities and Challenges
Ganesh K. Venayagamoorthy
- 10 Apr 2023
TL;DR: In this article , the benefits that NoMs can provide and the challenges currently being researched in academia are discussed, including data analysis, communication, and cyber-security to operations and management of the NoMs.

Optimization of power system stabilizer parameters using population-based incremental learning
Komla A. Folly,Ganesh K. Venayagamoorthy +1 more
- 12 Nov 2012
TL;DR: In this paper, the adaptive-fixed (AF) algorithm is used to adjust the learning rate automatically according to the degree of evolution of the search, which provides a more efficient search capability and gives a better damping and adequate dynamic performance of the system than the conventional PBIL based PSS.

Indirect adaptive control of an active filter using Echo State Networks
Jing Dai,Ganesh K. Venayagamoorthy,Ronald G. Harley,Keith Corzine +3 more
- 01 Nov 2010
TL;DR: In this article, an indirect adaptive neuro-control scheme using two ESNs to control an active filter in a multiple-reference frame is proposed, where an online system identifier using an ESN is implemented in PSCAD to identify the load harmonics.

Learning nonlinear functions with MLPs and SRNs
Ryan Cleaver,Ganesh K. Venayagamoorthy +1 more
- 14 Jun 2009
TL;DR: In this paper, a particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm with the addition of a differential evolution step to aid in swarm convergence is proposed to learn nonlinear functions generated by randomly initialized multilayer perceptrons (MLPs) and simultaneous recurrent neural networks (SRNs).
