TL;DR: In this paper, fly ash was found to be formed by deposition of the ash particles on the surface of the quartz sand and by diffusion of ash compounds into the sand, and the fly ash particle mass size distributions were determined with a low pressure impactor.

Ash behavior in a CFB boiler during combustion of Salix
TL;DR: In this article, a study on the combustion characteristics of Salix Viminalis, a fast growing willow, was conducted at a 12 MW circulating fluidized bed boiler, where samples from all in-going (bed material, fuel) and out-going solid material streams (secondary cyclone and bag filter) as well as from the bed and the return leg were collected and analyzed chemically.
