Zircon and monazite UPb dating of the Doi Inthanon core complex, northern Thailand: implications for extension within the Indosinian Orogen
TL;DR: The Doi Inthanon metamorphic core complex has been inferred to be as old as Precambrian and as young as Permo-Triassic by radiometric age data of zircon from core orthogneisses of the complex as discussed by the authors.

Variscan syncollisional extension in the Iberian Massif: structural, metamorphic and geochronological evidence from the Somosierra sector of the Sierra de Guadarrama (Central Iberian Zone, Spain)
J. Escuder Viruete,P. P. Hernaiz Huerta,P. Valverde-Vaquero,R Rodrı́guez Fernández,G. R. Dunning +4 more
TL;DR: A new integrated analysis of structural, metamorphic and U-Pb monazite age data, indicates that the Berzosa-Riaza shear zone is a major D2 extensional structure associated with oblique, crustal-scale extensional shearing and important decompression as mentioned in this paper.

The Doi Inthanon metamorphic core complex in NW Thailand: age and tectonic significance
TL;DR: The Doi Inthanon complex as mentioned in this paper is composed of a dome-shaped orthogneissic core and mylonitic paragneisses, separated by detachment surfaces from a cover of low-grade to unmetamorphosed sedimentary rocks of mainly Early Paleozoic age.

TL;DR: A new integrated analysis of microstructural, metamorphic and U-Pb monazite age data, indicates that the Berzosa-Riaza shear zone (BRSZ) is a major D2 extensional structure associated with crustal-scale ductile extensional shearing and important decompression.

TL;DR: In this article, a new structural analysis of the Somosierra sector of the Spanish Central System is presented, and two main tectonothermal events are recorded: D1 is compressional and related to the variscan collision that produces northeast-eastward thrusting and associated folding; D2 has an extensionnal character and produces, as the main feature, the development of a kilometric-scale ductile shear zone and a series of associated low grade detachments where D1 structures are overprinted and trasposed at all scales.
