Channel aware scheduling for broadcast MIMO systems with orthogonal linear precoding and fairness constraints
G. Primolevo,Osvaldo Simeone,Umberto Spagnolini +2 more
- 16 May 2005
TL;DR: This work considers channel aware scheduling for orthogonal linear precoding at the base station that guarantees interference free reception for each scheduled users and proposes a scheduling algorithm that is shown by simulation to guarantee superior performance as compared to know techniques.
Effects of imperfect channel state information on the capacity of broadcast OSDMA-MIMO systems
G. Primolevo,Osvaldo Simeone,Umberto Spagnolini +2 more
- 11 Jul 2004
TL;DR: It is found that channel variability is the predominant cause of performance degradation in a realistic setting, where feedback of CSI from the receivers to the transmitter takes a finite amount of time, thus suggesting to limit the use of OSDMA to channels varying slowly enough.

Towards a joint optimization of scheduling and beamforning for MIMO downlink
G. Primolevo,Osvaldo Simeone,Umberto Spagnolini +2 more
- 01 Aug 2006
TL;DR: This paper addresses the downlink of a multi-user MIMO system by investigating a novel greedy solution that approximately maximizes the sum-rate and compared with known solutions based on combinatorial search.

Fair scheduling and orthogonal linear precoding/decoding in broadcast MIMO systems
R. Bosisio,G. Primolevo,Osvaldo Simeone,Umberto Spagnolini +3 more
- 11 Sep 2005
TL;DR: In this article, the joint optimization of scheduling and linear precoding within a physical layer-oriented framework, where the performance metric is the transmission rate, is formulated and evaluated by numerical simulations allowing to assess the tradeoffs between sum-rate (multiuser diversity) and fairness.
Fair scheduling and orthogonal linear precoding/decoding in broadcast MIMO systems (Invited Paper)
R. Bosisio,G. Primolevo,Osvaldo Simeone,Umberto Spagnolini +3 more
- 01 Jan 2005
TL;DR: The joint optimization of scheduling and linear precoding within a physical layer-oriented framework, where the performance metric is the transmission rate, is formulated.
