Altered autonomic cardiac control in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy Role of outflow tract obstruction and myocardial hypertrophy
Ugo Limbruno,G Strata,Riccardo Zucchi,Roberto Baglini,G Mengozzi,Alberto Balbarini,Mario Mariani +6 more
TL;DR: Among patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, only those with outflow tract obstruction show spectral signs of altered autonomic cardiac control, and within this group, the autonomic dysfunction appears to be correlated to myocardial hypertrophy rather than to left ventricular out flow tract obstruction.

Usefulness of intravenous myocardial contrast echoardiography in the early left ventricular remodeling in acute myocardial infarction
G Mengozzi,Roberta Rossini,Caterina Palagi,Giuseppe Musumeci,Anna Sonia Petronio,Ugo Limbruno,Paolo Caravelli,Vitantonio Di Bello,Mario Mariani +8 more
TL;DR: IMCE seems to be an important diagnostic tool, able to predict left ventricular (LV) remodeling in patients with acute myocardial infarction, and was a significant independent predictor of LV remodeling.

Coronary collateral circulation behaviour and myocardial viability in chronic total occlusion treated with coronary angioplasty
Anna Sonia Petronio,Roberto Baglini,Ugo Limbruno,G Mengozzi,Giovanni Amoroso,A. Cantarelli,M. Vaghetti,Alessandro Distante,Alberto Balbarini,Mario Mariani +9 more
TL;DR: These data show that the adaptive mechanism observed in the behaviour of epicardial and microvascular circulation after reperfusion of a chronic occluded infarct-related artery can vary, and clearly shows that microVascular integrity detected by myocardial contrast echocardiography can provide myocardIAL viability.
Ultrasonic tissue characterization and Doppler tissue imaging in the analysis of left ventricular function in essential arterial hypertension: a preliminary study.
Davide Giorgi,Vitantonio Di Bello,Roberto Pedrinelli,Alessio Bertini,Enrica Talini,Giulia Dell'Omo,G Mengozzi,Caterina Palagi,R Dell'Anna,Mario Mariani +9 more
TL;DR: Diastolic abnormalities of left ventricular function, in arterial hypertension, are related and progress with systolic intrinsic dysfunction, and Ultrasonic tissue characterization with the intrinsic contractility study and the evaluation of the regional diastolic function should, therefore, represent a new integrated diagnostic modality for the evaluation.

Coronary microcirculation in essential hypertension: a quantitative myocardial contrast echocardiographic approach
V. Di Bello,Roberto Pedrinelli,Davide Giorgi,Alessio Bertini,Enrica Talini,G Mengozzi,Caterina Palagi,Carmela Nardi,Giulia Dell'Omo,Marco Paterni,Mario Mariani +10 more
TL;DR: The coronary microcirculation in hypertensive patients presenting a mild degree of left ventricular hypertrophy, explored with quantitative myocardial contrast echocardiography, showed a different behaviour in comparison with controls, in the vasodilatory response to dipyridamole.
