Oblique saccades of the cat: A comparison between the durations of horizontal and vertical components
D. Guitton,G. Mandl +1 more
TL;DR: Comparisons were made between the durations of the H and V components of oblique saccades, made by alert chronic cats in either the light or dark, and these durations were compared to those of pure H or V movements of the same amplitude.

Responses of visual cells in cat superior colliculus to relative pattern movement.
TL;DR: Are there visual cells in the cat superior colliculus, selectively sensitive to relative pattern movement?

A comparison between saccades and quick phases of vestibular nystagmus in the cat.
D. Guitton,G. Mandl +1 more
TL;DR: It is shown that there is no linear addition between the oppositely directed slow and quick phase movements during vestibular nystagmus in either the light or dark.

Colour inputs to orientation detectors in the human visual system.
C.R. Sharpe,G. Mandl +1 more
TL;DR: Results from psychophysical experiments have shown that Superimposing a low luminance uniform background of one colour upon a sinusoidal grating of another colour has no effect upon a subject's contrast threshold for that grating, and it is suggested that cross-colour adaptation may be the after effect of prolonged inhibition between orientation specific spatial pattern detectors.
